Written Update - 23rd April

Read On!! -

1. In Panchayat, the sarpanch gives Khanak a free hand to talk and express her thoughts. Hetal and Mangal are worried about this. Mangal tells Sarpanch that Khanak's whole world has toppled and she is not in a state to find her own directions and hence, he will be the one who will be able to make the right/wrong decision for her. Sarpanch cuts him and says that he would make the decision but before that he wants to hear Khanak out. He asks Khanak to step in and express her thoughts without hesitation.

2. Khanak steps in and thinks about her previous days conversation with Mangal and Hetal. She revives her memories with Suraj and thinks about her conversation with her FIL. Finally Khanak starts speaking....She tells everyone that from the time she has opened her eyes in this world, her marriage was fixed with Suraj singh. Suraj was not her dream but her eyes through which she viewed this world and in which her dreams resided. Suraj was not only hers but her whole family's eyes. Their eyes have gone and this man (Shaan) talks about Dreams!! Their life has been punished with such a big hole, how will this hole be filled with his money? During Rakhi festival, when her SIL would think about her brother, will she use money as the rakhi? During Vath-savitri, when all married women would be touching their husband's feet, would she touch this guys money? (Mangal and Hetal are annoyed and everyone else is crying) ...Mangal interrupts and tells Hetal to support and handle Khanak but Sarpanch orders him to sit down. Khanak goes on that she is not very educated and Shaan is the owner of the factory and is city bred and hence she will not be able to speak like him but request everyone to please answer this one question for her- If he has money, does he get automatic rights to kill anyone? If he takes anyone's life and instead throws money, how can he be forgiven?

3. Shaan gets worried and requests everyone to understand him. He tells everyone that he is not trying to get rid of the situation by offering money. He cannot change someone's faith but he can change the situation. The only solution to this issue is - Money. Sarpanch tells him that here the issue is not about everyone, here we are talking about Khanak only. Shaan tells everyone that even Khanak's issue can be resolved thru' money. Sarpanch disagrees and taunts at him that he has no idea what a widow can go thru'. Shaan tells him that he understands but time heals everything and over the period of time, Khanak will too forget Suraj singh....This shocks Khanak......Shaan goes on that Khanak would remarry some day.....Khanak gets angry and looks at him with extreme hatred...Everyone is shocked to hear this and the crowd gets agitated instantly....Mangal shouts at Shaan as to how did he dare to talk about a second marriage for Khanak. Some guy in the crowd adivises Shaan to mind his tongue and that the women in this village dont marry second time. They threaten to cut him into pieces.

4. Sarpanch controls the crowd. He explains everyone that Shaan is from the city and is not aware of their traditions. He informs Shaan that in our village the girl does not marry the 2nd time. On being questioned by Shaan about this, Sarpanch tells him that this is our tradition. Shaan then questions Sarpanch that if this is the tradition in your village then what was the point in organizing this panchayat, what was the point in asking for Khanak here in the Panchayat? He can give money or he can give his life, but that will not affect Khanak's life, her life would remain the same, irrespective of the punishment metted on him, then what was the point in wasting these 4 days? Sarpanch starts brooding. Shaan further puts his point across that Mangal here wants compensation in the form of money and he was willing to give the money, then what was the point in panchayat meddling in between things? A guy (some Bhanu Singh) in the Panchayat gets angry and accuses Shaan of insulting Panchayat and threatens to kill Shaan.

5. Sarpanch controls Bhanu Singh. He asks Shaan whether he wants Khanak to remarry? Shaan hesitates but agrees to it. Khanak gives him one more stare filled with hatred. Sarpanch questions him that who would marry a widow? Shaan is surprised and says that anyone can marry her, being a widow is not a disease that noone can marry her. Sarpanch cuts him and informs him that in this village marrying a widow is considered a bad omen and hence Widow will not get married.

6. Shaan doesnt agree and tells everyone that these are waste beliefs. Sarpanch addresses the crowd that this city guy believes that time heals everyone's pain but he (sarpanch) disagrees with it. He himself believes that a widows pain can never be healed and this is the rule made by God. This is the repay of previous janam's bad karma. He has never heard about a widow remarriage before but this city guy thinks that he has a solution to heal Khanak's pain. Hence, he has decided that Khanak will remarry. (Everyone is SHOCKED) ...He further goes on that the responsibility to find a groom for Khanak will be on Shaan's shoulders. Shaan has to find a groom for Khanak in 5 days and get her married. (Now, its time for Shaan to be shocked. ) Shaan does not know how to make things happen in 5 days. Sarpanch further states that If the marriage does not happen in 5 days, then this panchayat will gather again to decide Shaan's punishment. Shaan is frustrated and perplexed! Everyone supports Khanak.

7. Shaan, Chowksi and the other guy are sitting in their lawn. Chowksi tells Shaan that its difficult to find a guy for Khanak. Shaan disagrees and tells Chowksi to throw 20-25L on their faces and anyone would be willing to marry Khanak. Chowksi tells Shaan that here the point is not money, but in this village marrying a widow is considered a bad omen. The other guy further explains to Shaan that it is believed here that the widow is supposed to pray for the peace of her dead husbands soul, whole of her life, if she does not do that, then the dead husband becomes a ghost. Shaan shuns all these superstitions and tells them that money has power and everyone would forget these superstitions in front of the money. Chowksi puts forth a 2nd problem that Khanak might not agree with the marriage. Shaan tells him that Khanak not agreeing is not his problem. This was Panch's order and hence, its Panch's problem to convince her. He scolds Chowksi for only stating issues in front of him and not providing any solutions. He tells them that he cannot leave this place till Khanak remarries. He orders Chowksi to spend unlimited money but get a guy for Khanak, even if that means going to the neighbouring village. He gives Chowksi 2 days to close this issue. Someone from the village overhears this conversation.

8. Shaan gets a call from Natasha. He informs Natasha about Panch's decision which surprises her. She is worried that Shaan will not be able to find a groom for Khanak as he does not know anyone there. Shaan doesnt find this an issue as Khanak is a nice gal and everyones favourite in the village and anyways, if this factor is not enough to get a guy for her, then they will offer money for this. Shaan assures Natasha that its not a big issue after all his father is a rich man and his would be FIL is much more richer. Natasha is not comfortable and advises Shaan not to take things lightly as money cant buy everything. Shaan is sure that he can find loads of grooms in 2 days time. He gives final assurance to Natasha and hangs the phone.

9. Shaan hopes that Chowksi finds a nice guy for Khanak and he would be able to leave soon as he is dying to return back to his place.

PRECAP: Sarpanch, Khanak's Father (KF) and Khanak's FIL are disussing the matters. Sarpanch states angrily that in this village it is believed that marriage is a 7 janam's bond. He criticizes Shaan by saying that just bcoz that city guy has read 2 books, he is laughing on their traditions. he further states that he will make sure that Shaan does not leave the village till this issue is sorted out. KF tells sarpanch that if Khanak remarries, the whole village will criticize him. Sarpanch assures that noone has guts to criticize him as this is Panch's decision.

Shaans father informs Natasha's dad that he is leaving for Tulwadi today. Natasha's father is shocked.

Well, I think Natasha's role will diminish once Shaan and Khanak marry...She will just make some guest appeareances....or they might just end her roll by sending her to some foreign land forever......Anyways, I actually like Natasha more than Khanak....Khanak is good in bubbly role but I have not been convinced with her from the time crisis has struck her world and she has become the grieved wife....Only bubbliness looks good on her, the sad potrayal is not convincing.....I actually wish, Natasha had done Khanak's role....

I am sure his mom would not accept Khanak as she is very bothered about Class and the Bhabhi might turn into a negative character as her sister didnt make it....

What is Shaan going to do now,when he marries Khanak will he take her with him.It will not be easy for Khanak to accept the remarriage,will Shaan force her to marry him,sure Khanak will not accept easily to marry him
