| Abhijeet denies the allegations of assault, claiming a drunk Arvind Sarvadekar (right) threw him out of the store |
Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and a posse of thugs allegedly assaulted his tenant Arvind Sarvadekar with bamboo sticks in Andheri last night.
Abhijeet, who owns a gala at the Royal Classic building next to Fame Adlabs in Oshiwara, Andheri had leased the property to Sarvadekar under the name of Newtron Services for three years.
Sarvadekar opened a franchise of Hyundai Electronics, but did not pay his rent regularly.
In the past three months, three of his cheques – amounting to Rs 2.91 lakh – bounced. The singer and his goons entered the shop at around midnight and allegedly ordered Sarvadekar to vacate the place at once.
"We requested Abhijeet to give us a day, as it was not possible to shift our goods out at such a late hour," said Sarvadekar, who claimed the singer and his thugs punched him and hit him with bamboo sticks.
| "I accept that the three cheques bounced, but he has my Rs 5 lakh deposit, which he could have used to adjust the bill," he said. |
