Interesting Fact - how fair is it?

I was just sitting today, trying to recall the auditions...when the contestants were picked, I thought it was based on merely their talent, but now when I think about it...half of the contestants made it through knowing atleast one of the mentors ............. interesting eh?

wow good point detective...LOL, looks like except for Kruti, Amar, Kishore (not sure if he Paulson's relative) rest all had some strings attached....

I think the masters also encourage their students or dancer acquaintances to participate.. 🤔

True to an extent, but there's also something you dont know... When a contestant audition for DID and if he or she knows one of the Masters, the rules and criteria for selection process are also different from other contestants. For others, if two masters say yes, he or she will be in from the first round. But for known contestants, all three masters have to say yes jointly and agree together for he or she to even get in through the first round!! So it's tougher for them.

Now coming to the rest in top 18 - Amar, Parvez, Ameeth, Vandu, Kruti, Shruti, Shashank, Tashu, and Bhawna had no prior connections with DID or the masters. That is 50% of top 18. Just my thoughts.

Akku --- Vandu had! She was there last year! 😉

But coming back to the topic, I think we've seen that's it really made not much difference to where the show has lead. Or maybe it had, since Punit, Shakti, Dharmesh are in. It depends on your viewpoint really here. Personally, I don't think it really matters, not for the good masters. If it did, Terence would not have had such a high regard for Amar.

Dharmesh knew Remo

Binny (repeat from DID 1)

Meenu (repeat from DID 1)

Naresh being bro of Mangesh, ofcourse knew the mentors

I just wonder if the rest of the candidates from india were given a fair chance?

teena knew Geeta? no wonder she chose Teena over Amrita!!! well..for me- Amrita is the star!!

Parvez tried out for DID 1 and so did Vandana

iono why Meenu and Binny got the spotlight from it but anyways

no i really dont think its a plus point for the contestants well maybe for teena thats bout the only person i was like O_O about when she was chosen over amrita

Both Teena and Altaf are Geeta's staff members - they are part of her dance team outside DID.
