Hey guys,
So, I ended up watching the whole episode instead of just Amar's performance coz I needed something to light me up, and here's my opinion on all the performances:
Amar - 10 - As usual, the feel that his performance created was at another level! His steps were sharp, neat, clean and the whole performance was just flowing smoothly. This is exactly y I like Amar so much, his performances are so effortless and he brings out the emotion not just in himself but in the audience too! the fact that I cried while watching his performance is an indication of how much he engaged me in his performance, I was totally with him and felt the whole pain of seperation from something rlly valuable! even though we have seen many contemporary pieces from Amar, this routine definitely raised the bar and did not make the performance look repetitive or boring for me at all! the song itself is rlly nice and I have to give the credit to Terence for utilising the song and Amar to their full potential! Good job Amar, u deserved the MJ band and u will be the real winner of DID 2 for me! I wish u all the best for whatever u may chose to do in future!
Shakti - 9 - Ahh, now what do I say abt it. With every performance, Shakti reminds me y I like her so much and y she deserves my vote and support! she has been really consistent throughout the whole show and even her today's performance was at par with her previous beautiful performances! Sometimes when u r mixing so many different styles and music together, it can look very messy and unorganized but Shakti's performance looked neat, clean and the transitions were rlly good! The concept was again nice and creative and Shakti did full justice to the choreography!
Dharmesh - 8.5 - Hmm, I liked his performance actually but I also agree with Terence that I would've enjoyed the act much much more if he used different steps. The concept was nice and again I love it when he does his own style but as Terence said, he didn't take his performance to a higher level. He repeated the same steps, which kinda bothered me throughout the song and didn't let me fully enjoy it =/ I would say the concept was nice and Dharmesh performed well, but I wasn't too happy with the choreography!
Punit - 8 - this style rlly suits him, and I think he did perform well today. Just not the kind of performance I expect at the top 4 level =/ His energy was good and steps were also sharp, but I never seem to like Punit's expressions or connect with his performances at all =/ His performance didn't engage me. I didn't have any emotion while watching his performance. it was like he came, performed, and went without leaving any impact on the audience and that's not a good sign at top 4 level! Nothing abt Punit impress me and I'm just rlly sad to see him in final 4 instead of Amar =[
Binny - 5 - HORRIBLE is the word my friend! Extremely extremely disappointed with her solo. this is not the kind of solo u should be giving at top 4 level!! She did not complete her steps, and did not dance openly. The song was very cleverly chosen by Geeta. It's a fun song which requires a lot of masti and I didn't get to see that masti in her performance. She didn't go all out or danced openly All I got to see was STRUGGLE to get the steps right!! Her steps weren't clean, sharp, and the whole performance looked very messy! I can say I enjoyed the SONG but not her performance!
Jugalbandi was still SO much better than the solos, BUT I would've prefered seeing a seperate jugalbandi between Shakti-Binny and between Dharmesh-Punit. Anyways, here's the ratings for the jugalbandi:
Shakti - 9.5 - just watch Shakti move, and u will see the obvious difference between her and Binny!
Dharmesh - 9 - He was rlly rlly good in the jugalbandi! this is what I mean by doing different steps in ur own style and making ur performance not look boring or repetitive
Punit - 8.5 - he was good too
Binny - 8 - Her bhangra was so much better than the solo!!
Overall, good show but I m highly disappointed with the top 4 choices! Punit and Binny do not deserve to be there. Amar and Amrita should've been there! Anyways, what's done is done, and now from the current top 4, I would like Shakti to win! but let's see what future holds for these finalists!
