AR fans definitely don't want Armaan to play the cupid. I am not sure why.

I as a SR fan do not want to play the cupid. Has anyone ever seen a movie where the person doesn't fall for the middleman who tries to bring two together.

Kal ho na ho -- SRK tries to set up Rohit and Naina. Naina falls for Aman.
Ajab prem ki ghazab kahani -- prem tries to unite jenny with her lover.
Jaane tu ya jaane naa -- genelia tries to find imran a gf.
Kuch na kaho -- Aish tries to find Abhi a wife.
Jab we met -- Adi / geet / Anshuman
mujse dosti karogi -- Rani/ Hrithik/ Kareena
Kabhi alvida na kehna -- SR and Rani try to play cupid for each others marital life.
Jaan - e- maan -- Sallu/preity/akshay

So I feel SR fans shouldn't be so happy about this cupid story, and AR fans shouldn't be so sad over the cupid story.

LOLZ seriously it does not matter
If they can show Ridz having her time with both men at a time then i doubt this can cause anything or change anything.

CVs can do anything and there can be last changes too

As of now Shanky shall keep SR together and hopefully they will stay together

Exactly! The CVs aren't smart enough to plan ahead of time and have a good script to follow. They'll do whatever they feel like.
Its a good observation though. But even though I'm an AR fan, I still don't want him to play cupid, b/c regardless of the fact that it unites or breaks SR, it'll be such an un Armaan thing to do. And up till now he's been the only consistent character, so dont wanna see that ruined. Granted he's sorta accepted that the love of his life is his no more. But he shouldn't be sooo accepting as to go ahead and unite them...it'll be way too painful.
