Mumbai (April 14th, 2010): India's first family comedy entertainment channel – SAB, truly captures the message of unity in diversity. The most popular series 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah' currently airing on the channel every Monday – Thursday celebrates all festivals with much enthusiasm & fan fare. In a special episode airing on April 15th,2010 at 8:30 pm the Gokuldham society visits Gurudwara and celebrates 'Baisakhi' in true Punjabi style!!!

Sodhi and family is getting ready for a brief Guru Puja at their home, while Bhide family comes home to join them in their prayers. Together they offer karad Prasad to Guru specially prepared for the occasion by Mrs. Roshan Sodhi (Jennifer). The hustle and bustle on the sets is missing as the entire team is set to shoot the episode at a Gurudwara in Andheri.

Making the festivities of Baisakhi an occasion to remember the producer of the show got special permission to shoot on-location at a Gurudwara in Andheri west, Four Bungalows. The entire cast & crew of Taraak Mehta team paid a visit to the Gurudwara and offered their prayers.

The entire idea came from Gurucharan Singh, the actor who plays the character of Roshan Sodhi in the show. Gurucharan has come all the way from his Pind "Bhatala" to fulfill his dreams of becoming an actor leaving his family behind. Gurucharan aka Sodhi was feeling very lonely and missing his family a lot when the producer came up with the idea of visiting the Gurudwara to cheer him up and the entire cast and crew joined the producer and eventually an event was shot which became a part of the series.

Gurcharan Singh, who plays Sodhi in the serial "Taarak Mehta Ka Ultah Chasmah", originally belongs to Ludhiana. He said "We do not have enough time to celebrate festivals with our family but it is compensated when we celebrate them with our co-stars on the sets. Recently, we celebrated Holi and it was sheer fun, he added."

'I love the karad Prasad specially prepared for the occasion and the puja while visiting the Gurudwara to offer prayers along with the entire cast, tapu sena, sonu, everyone…!', says Samay Shah who plays Gogi Sodhi in the show.

Everybody say…Jatta aai Baisakhi…! To express their joy and enthusiasm the cast performs bhangra and gidda and have loads of fun during shoot. Indeed it's a one big happy family.

So, don't forget to tune in to 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah' Baisakhi special on April 15th,2010 at 8:30 pm on SAB.
