DMG started with a bang and got decent TRPs for the channel...it started to gain popularity and because it dint really have any rivals on the channel, they were the no. 1 show for star one! Now the moment MJHT started, DMG's ratings dropped and MJHT became d driver show for the channel and since then DMG HAS NEVER been star one's no.1 show...
now after 2.5 yrs of running and even at a time when AR story was at its peak, it failed to attract TRPs and was getting ratings as low as 0.7 - 0.8 (Check TAM archives if u dun believe me) and the channel was getting frustrated coz nothing seemed to spur the show on...they gave an ultimatum to cinevistaas and they tried to experiment with the new interns...
when the new interns came, even then it could not increase the ratings n MJHT n JPSYA were doing better than DMG so even this flopped...then they thot tht mayb getting one of the older characters back wud help the show and only Jenny stepped in coz they had some issues with KSG. Now Jenny entry did pull the show up but only slightly...then they saw potential in the SR pairing and wanted to try that pairing as well...this was like a final experiment for them coz Star One was really building the pressure...so they tested the SR pairing for 3 months..
Now it wont be correct to say tht their story flopped...yes it did not put DMG in the top slot for star one but it did improve the ratings marginally...but star one was not happy wit tht so they were ready to pull the plug on the show, when KSG was brought back as the last desperate measure!

A couple of points from this whole analysis - DMG was about to shut right before the new interns made d entry coz star one was not happy wit the ratings but the production house asked them for an extension...n tht time SR dint even enter the foray so to say tht their story flopped n thts y DMG was shutting down wud be wrong!
DMG's ratings during kajen times and during jeran times - compare them n u ll hardly see a difference but wat works in jeran's favour is the time frame - shorter time period - u can do the math!
The biggest point perhaps tht even now after KSG's entry, DMG is still not the no.1 show for star one so it really hasnt helped them..yes it has added drama to the whole situation n the viewers are hooked only coz of the love triangle - so CVs wud keep tht in mind...
And yes there is competition or else thr wont be so many Anti SR n Pro AR posts (and vice versa)...if thr was no competition n if majority of the ppl really wanted AR, Cvs wont waste time in uniting them and raising the show's TRPs...if thr was no competition, CVs wont be so confused!

Thr is competition hon, n the sooner u accept it the better it is for you!

@ rapunzel ok about dmg shutting down.... even we have our sources whose authenticity cannot be questioned....... but other than those sources.........

i know SR fans are gonna say that this is not a reliable source and whatever but this whole thing was hushed up and this was the only newz out in the open...

the technical team on ksg's entry said something like now that ksg's back the show will go on for atleast a year otherwise it would have shut down in a few months...

m not denying that SR has a big fan following but AR fan following is also humongous and your SR fan following is not the only thing thats increasing.......

plus i wanted to know one thing.....

why the hell would they get armaan back if they could've done without it.......?!! u know that the production house was not keen on getting him back and also the creative heads and the stars themselves confirmed that he's not coming back..... lets face it ppl it was their last ditch attempt to save the show and also starone itself wanted ksg back....

tell me if the SR track was working why would they get him back out of the blue like that especially when just days back they confirmed that he was not returning ever?

i know u guys will have your own arguments for this but pls lets keep it healthy..... and also u were right about saying that even after ksg's entry dmg is not the no.1 show on starone but atleast its giving tough competition to mjht !! the reason for that is the new shows which have come up....

its just my take on the subject and also for good trp's the top most reason is a fast-paced, gripping, logical storyline which has got no connection to dmg whatsoever 😉

the actors themselves cannot carry the whole burden of failure on themselves so its not fair at all to blame them....... infact this show has come to such a level that even if aamir khan was acting in it, he wouldn't be able to save its grace !!🤢
