I am making this post on behalf of an old time fan of DMG and it's an earnest request to the creatives of this show.

I would like the Cvs to ponder and reflect upon what the title of their show means and as a responsible production house, what message are they trying to impart with this show.

Unlike a lot of shows on Indian TV, this show has always been about relationships at the level of the heart and soul, and not about relationships based on birth/society/families. Even the relationship of it's protagonist, Riddhima started of with that of a daughter adopted into a family rather than born in it. It's her bonding with her father, grandmother and sister that was shown as the highlight of the show in it's early days. When we all found out about her adoption, we were all touched that her sister, father and GM had never discriminated against her because she was not related to them by blood, but love.

All the love stories shown in DMG have also been savored by the audience because they were based on a deep connection at the heart and soul level. Of course, Armaan and Riddhima's story stands out amongst all. As time went by, most of the love stories were left unfinished, but the eternal love story of AR kept the show, audience and story together. The audience grew to love their favorite couple of AR,so much so that numerous video mixes, fan fictions and creative ideas flooded the forums. Even today, AR fan fictions are the back bone of the fan fiction forum and AR have been selected as the # 1 favorite couple amongst ff readers. AR have been such a beloved couple that a lot of young minds, who would never call themselves creative, have discovered a new found talent in themselves.

The AR love story has not only inspired their creative talent, but also given hope to a lot of youth that true love does exist. In this age of constantly changing relationships, it is the depth of AR love that has kept that hope alive in numerous young minds that yes, even I can find true love in this world.

In India, numerous love stories remain incomplete due to parental pressure, societal expectations and forced marriages. Has anyone asked these young people, what would they have done different in their lives? I am sure a majority would say, I should have stepped up and followed my heart instead of falling for the society trap.

Unfortunately, Indian TV is still stuck in showing age old traditions of a couple compromising in a relationship in the name of society and traditions. There are numerous shows that highlight the importance of marriage as the only salvation for an Indian woman, even if it was done against her wishes. I agree, a lot of arranged marriages are successful (i myself have had an arranged marriage for many years) but most of these couples did not have a deep rooted love story with another person- a soul binding story like Armaan and Riddhima's.

DMG and Starone has always been about youth and innovation. So, why are the creatives of DMG diverging from their initial premise?

Why is a marriage of compromises been given so much priority that the true love Armaan and Riddhima shared for each other is being side lined? Do the creatives remember that these two characters have at different times in their love story, put their own lives at stake for their love? So, why now there is an about turn in the feelings of it's female protagonist that she has become so blind to what Armaan meant to her and what she meant to him?

Why are creatives not justifying the title Dill Mill Gaye and instead making this a show called shaadi ho gayi or saat phere or mangalsutra ki taqat etc etc???

Why are the creatives sending a wrong message to the youth that falling in love is a waste of time because inevitably you will have to leave your love and marry someone out of societal pressure or parental pressure?

Why is this show, instead of being progressive in it's thinking, turning into a retro show?

Why is a girl, who was willing to commit suicide for her love suddenly blaming her lover for being selfish???

Creatives, why are all the fans of Armaan and Riddhima who have stuck with the ups and downs of this show, including numerous cast changes, plot changes, unfinished love stories, being tested repeatedly and not being given a chance to see a true love story triumph on their favorite show?

Creatives, love is soon becoming a commodity in our society. I urge you to rekindle that hope and faith in true love....it's my sincere request to you all.

Perfect post Bheegi! <3

You've said everything so wonderfully that I have nothing to add.
But I really do hope we get our DMG back...Our DMG, which meant something... Our DMG, which bought happiness to our hearts... Our DMG which showed us what TRUE LOVE and TRUE FRIENDSHIP is all about <3 Our DMG which gave us ARMAAN-RIDDHIMA and their amazing love story!
Seeing DMG be something to insult love is just.... it's just an awkward time... Because this is meant to be a love story (ARMAAN & RIDDHIMA'S LOVE STORY), so to see how it's disrespecting love (and also is showing nothing about friendship) in it's 'part 2/sequel' or whatever...is just heartbreaking.
I really miss DMG....

yes preeti, this story is not about relationships forced by society, but those forced by the force of deep rooted love for each other.

Seriously, those CVs need to hire you on their team!! Only then will the track actually make sense!

They should reconsider renaming to shaadi ho gayi or saat phere or mangalsutra ki taqat because quite frankly that is what they are portraying.

It is a youth orientated show and that is what it was, but why does it feel like day by day it is becoming a gharela saas bahu drama? It is losing its essence......

Riddhima said 'Har insaan ka ateet hota hain' and by saying this she mocked and deceived his love. The CVs need to stop blinding her, as you said.

I hope creatives read that
Why arent they sticking to the title of the show dil mil gaye
Why are they making us think that no society is more important then what are heart says.
You know people always do what society wants them to do society thinks i should not wear this so its wrong
If i get married to this guy society will speak and my parents will get badnam
Why dont we do what are heart says
In this modern world cvs should pass this message on
Before i had made topics saying dmg has given us good messages

yes hannah...if that's what they want to show, they really need to re name their show Ridz has shown a lot of disrespect for armaan's love for her. If a girl cannot respect that kind of love and relationship, I doubt she would ever be capable of respecting any other relationship in the long run

I agree. The show has lost its essence and there's no longer any story or any 'youthfulness' attached to it. MJHT has taken the place of DMG, and I think the last good episode of DMG that I watched was when the whole gang lands up at Shashanks house for Armaans engagement (this was sometime in Sep.).
If nothing else, please try to follow the lyrics of the wonderful title song. The show was so good in the beginning and its lost everything now. They need to reunite AR, but in order to keep the audiences, they need to get good writers, and possibly a better director. I felt there were some scenes that could have been portrayed better with their original director. Also they drag everything nowadays. In the olden days (with Shilpa) they had so much happening within 1 episode, and now they took a month to let Armaan know abt Sidmas marriage. I mean come on....look at the May 08 episodes...those were the best. So much happening, and even tho AR werent together, we still got to see such good scenes. But nonetheless the current requirements are:
1. Reunite AR
2. Get better writers
