SAS Kiran classically trained Kathak Dancer who was the first elimination on DID 1 amongst TOP 12...Why because of her expressions 😕

Classical dance has no value with Indian janta I suppose...So I wonder who are we? Indians living abroad or some of us are from India who love any sort of classical dance???

It is a shame as atleast 3 classically trained dancers are out of the game now...Shashant, Kruti and Amrita...

Master geeta did classical many timesh last year " kathak" with siddhesh in "kadmo ki boli" challenge round ,she did "kathakkali" "jumma chumma " song ,and "kachipudi" also with siddhesh "aai pappi " song this was last season

This season she did tayyam with dharmesh , five different classical mix in to one in duet by amritha and binny , pure mani puri with binny and amritha , again kathak with amritha "piya tu ab to aaja", kalia mardan too

so the moral of the story is geeta is capable of carrying classical dance 😉

and one more bottome line truth is classical is neither appreciated nor sold in todays India other wise kruthi , tashu and amritha would have been with us 😭

Geeta has attempted classical agreed, but most of it was not in its purest form. Her Kathakali last season was fabulous, but the truth is it was very basic, and the same goes for theyyam this seaon, very basic attempt. Her kathak on Piya tu did have kathak steps but there is also something called as bollywood kathak...and Geeta is good in that....Won't deny that she hasn't ateempted classical but I will say that it is not to the purest form. Her last season kadmon ki boli attempt was not appreciated, as a classical person she should be able to do more than a mere Bollywoodish attempt...My question is, has she ever tried to do what Tashu or Kruti did? That is called Indian Classical without any mix in it...

Geeta excels in Bollywood choreography. Period. She adds garnishings of "Classical" to her Bollywood dances. I loved Kathakalli and this year's classical blends. But again they were all very basic.

Do you think, somebody should win the show who does not have any decent knowledge of Indian classical? I dont think anybody apart from AMRITA has fair amount of knowledge on Classical. Among the mentors only GEETA is classically sound.

Before the GEETA-bashers start shouting at me, I genuinely want to say that, classical dance forms are much tougher than western dances. For instance, one can master the basic Salsa/ Samba/Hip-hop moves in about a week s time (Atleast I learned them in short time) but people take years to dance Bharat-Natyam.

Please think twice before bashing somebody like GEETA. Bcoz Not Knowing Hip-Hop is not a crime but, being a INDIAN not knowing Bharat-Natyam or Manipuri IS A CRIME for a choreographer!!! Think about it, and don't take it personally. Talk about dance not about personal favorites.

I support u totally ...but yes the creative team is smart enough to know that the audiences love to vote 4 western performances..like hip-hop,salsa, contemporary....not even classical western styles like ballet..that way we can c wy grt dancers like Tashu,Kruti,Shashank got evicted....n shocking of all Geeta chose girls like Shruti,Tina over Amrita...goodness
