The small screen's Kkusum now faces the biggest trauma of her life. She faces arrest for Mahi's accidental death.

As the only one present on the scene just before Mahi leapt to her death, the needle of suspicion points to her.

Thursday's one-hour special episode of this Sony soap had Kkusum's husband, Abhay Kapoor, host a party in which Kkusum and Mahi had a major showdown with Mahi blaming Kkusum for everything that went wrong in her life.

Incidentally, Mahi's death was a way to show the exit of Poonam Narula Goyal (who plays Mahi) from the serial as she is expecting a baby.

Says producer Ekta Kapoor, "Poonam proceeds on maternity leave and this special episode was to bid farewell to her."

In true Balaji style, Mahi's face was not shown, so that possibility of her being back in the show remains. "At the moment I don't know. May be she will be back," says Ekta.

Adds Poonam, "At this stage I don't know for how long I will be away. But I'm sure that I will be back to acting. I will be back on the small screen."

With the focus now on Kkusum and her arrest, this weekly soap's track will now have more of Kkusum and Abhay.

Manasi Joshi Roy who plays Kkusum says, "Kkusum will be back in the thick of things.

No one can believe that Kkusum could have committed the crime. Kkusum and murder don't go together." According to Anuj Saxena who essays the role of Abhay, "This twist in the tale will provide some added drama to the show."

Interestingly, Esha (Shweta Kwatra) is missing from the scene as she is away in Canada. But expect her to play a stellar role in the new scheme of things.
