Prithvi Saxena - Language and Body Language

Hi Prithvi fans & PriDaholics,

I have been planning to write this for a while...

After watching and rewatching many Prthivi-Damini scenes many times...

Prithvi uses hand gestures, nods and eye-expressions more than words... Other characters played by Gaurav Khanna seems more of motor mouths, but Prithvi nods his head even responding to a Good Morning, Hello wishes...
Uses quite a lot of "hmmm...." (wonderfully does so when "discussing" Shaadi proposal with Damini)

Usage of English in dialogue... Sounds pretty natural when it comes from Prithvi Saxena...
I have seen in many shows that English comes as forced, when inserted into lines. But when Prithvi Saxena says "Don't be" to Damini's "Sorry", it sounds very natural. This is just an example. English words and phrases flow in his dialogues. But never sound "inserted"...

Wonder why? Is it because I am besotted with Prithvi's language and body language?? Or are there others who feel the same??

Please Note: It is not my intention to degrade/criticize any other show/character/actor. This is just an appreciation of the character named Prithvi Saxena - and the way it was portrayed admirably by Gaurav Khanna... 👏 Just to think that the show has been off our screens for more than a month. Even then, there are many of us suffering from its hangover...

Have been missing the Prithvi Saxena - Damini Saxena duel, a lot....

Nice post..and in total agreement with you..

Prithvi Saxena is a wonderful character..there was definitely a lot of thought in creating such a character...he is almost perfect in everyway..makes me wonder at times if it was a woman who wrote this character...cos to many of us Prithvi is the ultimate dream man..

There is a certain aura about Prithvi..the way he speaks what he speaks..man of few words...

GK made this character more believable...the body language...there is a certain class to it all..

And yes there can be no other Prithvi Saxena on TV..he is unique.

Prithvi's character was a strong one and GK played it PERFECTLY.

Usske body language (specially eye movements) ka koi jawab nahi!

I have never seen any of GK's other shows but his role as Prithvi was OUTSTANDING!

P.S. - I agree when he said (hummed) hmmm during his marriage discussion with Damini, it was simply Mindblowing!😆

but seriously... I have been patkofying my head trying to explain to some that "being a motor mouth or showing off all different faces" does not make a great character..

The real Hallmark of Prithvi Saxena was "SUBTLETY" , the reason I love him so much. 😃

Everything from his restrained smile, rajma-phooting expressions, twich of the eye-brow, scratching of forehead, scowl on his face, eyes-softening every time he stared at Damziee, his toughie stance , his soft heart , his holding of Damziee... 😍

I think, the stars aligned perfectly once, when
-- Some creative came up with the character "Prithvi Saxena"
-- Some genius thought of casting Gaurav Khanna as Prithvi Saxena
-- Gaurav Khanna said "Yes"

There has not been and will not be another character like Prithvi Saxena for sure, but I am praying hard that the stars align right again so that we see Gaurav Khanna play another rocking character, we will all LOVE ..

Here is to Prithvi Saxena and To Damini Gujral as well , coz Prithvi wouldn't have been Prithvi if he didn't have Damini Gujral 😃
