Hi everyone... I just had an idea and wanted to know your opinion.

You know that in hollywood it's commonplace to make movies out of hit tv series. However, here in India we just dont have appropriate tv series that could be made into movies, cause mostly they are all saas-bahu dramas. But I feel C.I.D is the only serial that has the scope of being made into a movie with our dear trio in the lead.... If this was done the movie would be in the same genre as "A Wednesday" 😃

So, I know this is not something that will happen anytime in the near future... but I just wanna know all you C.I.Dians opinion.

Would you watch a movie based on our favorite tv series with our favorite actors?

I personally would love to see the C.I.D in action on the big screen ⭐️

Wait, I've never seen this happen in Hollywood, but it certainly will be nice to see CID as a movie.

I would definitely love with very good story and script and especially The side cast chosen should know how to react to situation and yes no songs is required only 1-2 songs with sticking to CID theme.

Some of the hollywood movies based on tv series are: Charlie's angels, mission: impossible, star trek, The transformers, The X- files, Sabrina, *** and the city, Mr.Bean and soo many more...

Actually most of the Hollywood movies based in tv shows are reimaginings/remakes or reboots of those shows. Not all of them were created to be in continuity with the original series. The Star Trek franchise is a notable example of big screen adaptations in continuity with the original series. Then there are the X-Files movies. I am not counting the many tv movies though (since this topic is specifically about big screen adaptations).

So do we want a big screen remake of CID with Bollywood stars playing the roles of ACP, Abhijeet, Daya, etc? No, of course not. But do we want a CID movie on the big screen starring Shivaji, Aditya, Dayanand, etc and in continuity with the show? I don't know about others but I certainly would like it. Provided they get good scriptwriters, a good director and a sufficiently big budget. Please no item songs or any of the characters singing and dancing in the rain or something.

The only issue I see is the box office. Will it be a success? There is a huge difference between being a successful tv show and a successful movie. Many film adaptations of tv shows have fallen flat on their faces. The movie mentioned by the OP, A Wednesday, at least had Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher as the main characters. If they bring in big stars into a CID movie in the hopes of box office success then there is the risk of our trio being sidelined in favour of the big star(s). As long as that does not happen and competent people are in charge, I'd like to see it happen. 😊

Star trek (original series) movies were not as good as the TV series...don't you think???
Actually I loved only Star Trek 2 and 3. The rest of them were crappy.
I was and am a big fan of the series till today. And they too have a very sweet trio.

It would be great if they invest on a good director and script writer rather than spending big bucks on a star cast and instead just casting Shivaji, Daya and Abhijeet. I'm sure itll do well at the box office with the right direction and story...

I'm a big fan of Star Trek too. I think the 2nd, 3rd and 4th films (which formed a trilogy of sorts) and the 6th were good. I liked them. The first one really suffered because they were originally planning a sequel tv series and then decided to make a movie and recycled the tv scripts into a movie. And the 5th had a poor script and poor special effects. As far as the TNG films are concerned, the only good one was First Contact I think (though it had its issues). The others did not live up to expectations. Definitely the Kirk-Spock-McCoy trio is fantastic! 😊
