What is the Spirit of Competition?

The spirit of any competition is what? We root like madmen for our contestant but when the show is done, no matter who the winner is we go and congratulate the winner, no? I mean imagine a world in which the winner of any competition was bashed as being non-deserving, and the judgement as being biased? I mean what kind of example are we setting for kids? Are we telling them that if you don't win at something, just turn around and say everything was rigged? I mean the motto of any great culture has been try your best at something and if you win great and if you don't try harder next time? I mean if the show is rigged then why did all these contestants agree to be a part of it? No one forced them right? Once they have entered the show then it's completly hypocritical of any of them or their fans to say oh they show is rigged if I don't win. I mean what's the point of calling it a competition then?So far voting has already proved to be fair in this show. Dharmesh sir was topping for a few weeks and now shakti has topped for a few weeks. I think it would be highly unfair of Dharmesh fans to question the legitimacy of the results if dharmesh sir doesn't win, and vice versa it will be highly unfair of Shakti fans to question the legitimacy of the results if Shakti doesn't win. Let them dance it out, and whoever connects with the hearts of the most people will be declared the winner. 😊

i'd be happy to see if anyone among dharmesh, amrita, amar or shakti wins 😉 keeping the spirit of competition alive!

👏 That's the spirit. Same here, any remaining contestant wins, I'll be happy. 😊 Of course if D sir or punit wins I'll be ecstatic. but regardless I will never disparage the voting public or disparage the democratic process through which the winner is decided. 😊 People argue that having the masters choose will be better, but even the masters all have their own biases so no matter what system you pick, it'll have its imperfections. 😊

good post ankit, and i agree we should congratulate whoever wins. the thing is we as an audience tend to get so attached, and we should try to not get too attached, after all once the show ends we all have to get back to our old routines w/o the show. so lets just sit back and watch, be entertained and enjoy all the talent we r seeing on the show.
but with that said, i still think that by the end of the day there will be a dozen debates in the forum on who did well, who did bad, and who shld go 😆

Let me summarize this thread:

"Dhaarmesh the expressionless one-trick-pony should win. And if he wins, nobody should point out that he probably didn't deserve to win when Shakti is clearly a better dancer and has more star-power."

Thank you, for summarizing in two sentences, saved me the effort of reading through the entire essay.

Ask the thread starter..In each of this threads, he always mentions 'DHARMESH and SHAKTI..!why cant he just speak for Dharmesh and leave it at that?

Point out all you can, but what is it going to matter after the winner is declared? If Dharmesh wins and others cry sour grapes, they'll be seen as sore losers. And vice versa, if shakti wins and others cry sour grapes, they too will be seen as sore losers. 😕 By your logic, we should never accept the winner of any contest as the winner, we should just say oh the contest was rigged and that's why he/she won.😕 where's the sportsmanship in that attitude?
