"I really feel I should finish the course. I have always felt greatly for youngsters. Counselling and guidance can help them cope with life and its problems in a big way," she explains.
Maninee says that when it comes to kids and the old, she has an inherent ability to connect with them instantly. "I bond extremely well with them; especially with kids. I can be a riot with children."
By completing the counselling course, the actress wants to involve herself in related programmes. "I want to be part of activities for children, like theatre workshops," says Maninee, who has a six-year old daughter, Dianoor. "In fact it would be great if I she could join me."
Back in Jassi
Maninee is currently seen as Yana in the Zee drama, Sarrkkar. There is also work-in-progress for her return as Pari in Sony's Jassi Jassi Koi Nahin, for which she has been approached again.
"Yes, they want me to be back. I am still best remembered as Pari, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the character, especially when I had to feign pregnancy to hook Raj (Parmeet Sethi). That was hilarious. I'd love to be Pari again — as long as there is something for me to do in the show."
Maninee is also looking at anchoring and hosting shows. "After doing the stand-up stint and gags with The Great Indian Comedy Show; I thing can manage things like a comedy or a chat show," says Maninee who featured with husband Mihir Misra in the dance show Nach Baliye, on Star One.
Meanwhile on the big screen, she will be seen in Rakesh Roshan's Krrish, in which she plays Priyanka Chopra's friend. Maninee had earlier featured in Rules — Pyar Ka Superhit Formula, and Waisa Bhi Hota Hai (Part II).
