indian TV audience & concept of love

I was roaming around Pyar ka bandhan thread and fans are highly upset because it seems like the two leads couples (Prateeksha / Shashank and Araina/ Raunak) have broken up and formed a new couple (Prateeksha/ Raunak). Surprisingly some people are taking it very well as they find the new couple suit each other far better than the old ones. Others are outraged as creatives made the viewers love Prateeksha and Shashank before and now they are breaking them apart.

Their outrage is actually nothing compared to Karan Singh Grover fans'. I am not sure how the creative are still alive by breaking Armaan and Riddhima's couple. 😕

In both of the forums people complain and say the creatives have made a mockery out of love. Did they really? How many times do people actually end up marrying their first love? There are so many women I know who say how they have fallen in love before with men who are not their husbands. But now that they are married they are totally happily committed and love their hubbies.

If it's possible in real life then why do the audience give such hard time to creative over such things. Is it wrong of them to do so?

Well ,I doubt that the writers care about the concept of love, they just want to make twists and turns, and seeing that most Indian people just aren't that creative, the only way they can bring in twists and turns is by silly tricks like switch partners or break up a seemingly unbreakable(such relationships would not break up in real life) relationship. And then even this will get stale and we'll probably see things like husbands eloping with the servants or wives sleeping with their daughter's boyfriend or the mailman etc. It always starts out as an art and ends as a business. The public thinks that its real love and they're fools.

Exactly.😆😆😆

It's foolish to look for reality in soaps, of all things in life. Let alone love.

Yeah, these writers are good mathematicians. 😛 I think that shows shouldnt be long running, actually. I think once a show becomes a hit, the indian mentality in the producers aim for security in payment so dont want to write a new show and take a risk so the writers resort to math. 😆

yeah thats true...not always a person ends up marrying their first love

n i dont know many ppl, who just stop randomly n stare at each other for 5 mins😆, like KSG n Ridhma used too....

but I guess...when u make the couple, so involved with each other...the audience is bound to react if they break up...the audience gets attached to them, n wont like seeing a new face...

Haha, true that.😆 But why not just put a period to the mushy mushy story of love birds instead of stretching it like a rubber band? It gets hecka boring after a while. 🥱
I like the way they do it with Korean shows. Just have around 20-25 episodes for a couple and end it before it loses the meaning of things. Or perhaps divide the same show into seasons. Season one for the first generation, take a brief gap, come back with a bang with generation two and then take a break and come back with a new crew for third generation for season three.....and so on. Less confusion about who's the saas, who's the bahu, how old the baa of the house is, etc...😛

😆😆 I love the korean shows style. I love it so much it's 3:30 am and I just finished watching 2 episodes. I wish I could watch more unfortunately I need to sleep. But there have been times where I stayed up whole night to finish a show.
For years I wished indian shows were made like korean dramas. Mahi way comes close. It doesn't air everyday and the episodes tend to be long. That way they cover more of the story.

I know😆, those eye-locking sessions are rather long.😆 They'd be on the two ends of a room and world would just fade away, leaving the two of em alone to stare at each other until someone comes and whacks them.😆 I'd just fast forward them. lol :P

Haha, I could already tell that you watch Korean shows. Thanks to your avi and sig.😆 I used to watch them at one point of time but I'm out of that phase now.😆
I know, the addiction can get rather bad. Worse than I-F, if you ask me.😆

Hmm, I don't follow Mahi Way regularly. I like the format of the show though. And it sounds pretty realistic compared to DMG and the likes of it. So, the ones looking for reality might wanna try watching that show. :P
