Just lock him out of the house. 😆

hahaha! DITTTO!! Why not! gosh! ridiculous-ness!!!😆 I would jump any person who agrees with the points on that page! hehe! wow!! phew! *wipes forhead* im so glad we dont live in those times anymore 😳

@ Tanyaz - your absolutely right! Manav is anything but a sexist, and I think his mentality is still the same! even if he's doing what-shall-not-be-named (i.e. marrying shravini and everything else), i think he still holds true to quite a few things he showed us in the beginnig of the show! Thank-goodness for a non chauvinistic character! FINALLY!!

@ TB and all else:
That list was circulated during some of our undergrad lectures on postcolonial feminism as an index of where things stood then for women in the west and where they stand now for women in the postcolonies. Pretty grim stuff. In spite of that, I think women in the US of the 50s - unless they were also black or brown - still had it better than many of their counterparts in more traditional societies even in 2010. Not saying every "freedom" women enjoy has necessarily been a good thing in retrospect, or that discrimination and oppression aren't a reality here and now in the western world, just that there's at least a fundamental social tendency to critique such inequality, and a fundamental legal tendency to ameliorate it.

and the best line was from Vandu to Manav.. toh aap shravani se shaadi kyu kar rahe ho ? that was a million dollar question..other than that it was Ajit and Rasika's field day..Rasika rocked.. i knew she was going to make savita look better and that's what happened..
My eyes popped out when Arch raised her hand slightly to bless Ajit..I guess the 'vandu slaps Archu' piece is tomorrow.?. precap was pretty pathetic 😡
Kool..great analysis as usual !

At one time I used to think that Archu would be Ajit's choice to marry and then he will trap her in a situation that to help Vandita she ahs to do it .
I thought that Manav would surely go mad and question her and then it would be Archana who would say ....well you sacrifised your life and I have done the same ....
It was not Archana , but his own sister Vandita who learned how to kill your own desires and go for a samjhote ki shadi , just to keep the family happy ( in Vandita's case she feels her going away will make the family peaceful ) ..
She has learned it all from manav , how to do samjhota .....
One day when Archana will question her how can she keep on supporting Ajit despite of him being a horrible man, she will turn around and tell her ' Well you are supoorting and loving your husband despite of what he is doing to you ...he has another woman in the house and he is giving her more importance than you .... hsi mother shouts at yo uand you still love her ' , so now I am doing the same ...
Manav and Archana have set bad examples for Vandita ...

Everyone's comments are so valid and I don't want to repeat them.
One thing I was really glad about when Vandu asked her brother why he is marrying Shravani.....He had no answer. I believe that this question will now keep buzzing in his thoughts and I am hoping that he will change his commitment towards Shravani.
Savita has been a very irrational, ridiculous, manipulative and controlling woman. she has uttered verbal abuses and accused her DIL of various sorts. She has shown hostility towards her DIL. Solochana and her family has suffered from the hands of Savita due to Savita's cruelty towards Archana.
NOW, I am hoping to see the table turn towards Savita. I want Savita to suffer like she made Solochana and Archana suffer and this is the only way Savita will have salvation. However, I do feel for Vandu, but it is Vandu's fate.
I was feeling so sorry for the helpless Deshmukhians...my heart really poured for them, even Savita. I really want to see Rasika in the jail and chakie peesing...
