With the introduction of a stalker haunting Smriti (Jassi Kaur), K Street has now become an edge-of-the-seat storyteller.
The stalker, whose identity will be revealed in the coming episodes, has been making life miserable for Smriti.
Says Sandiip Sikcand, creative head for the show, "The stalker element has really worked for the show. People have started watching the show with high expectations and we have more surprises lined up for them in the coming weeks."
When asked who the stalker is, he says, "All I can say is that one can narrow it down to Bikram (Vikram Kapadia), Gayatri (Sudha Chandran) and Dweep (Nisha Sareen). Also once the stalker's mask is off, we have another huge twist lined up with Raunak (Alok Arora)."
K Street airs on Star Plus in a late night slot at 11.30 pm, does that put extra stress on the show's efforts to perform? "Of course.
We have to make sure that we put in our best, because it's not easy to make people stay awake that late and watch the show. But with the current track, we've seen a jump in viewer ship.
Also, the young actors on the show are giving their all to make sure they perform well. We have changed Smriti's look by giving her more contemporary clothes, and the result can be seen on screen."
Revealing a major plot element, Sikcand says, "One of the most exciting scenes we have shot is of Smriti's kidnapping.
The person who saves her will also be responsible for her death. We have shown her with a noose around her neck standing on the chair, while the rope is tied to the door.
The person who opens the door will pull the chair under her feet, killing her instantly. I think it's one of the best shot scenes."
Apart from this, Drone (Vipul Gupta) and Dweep are also shown to grow fond of each other.
Sounding extremely excited about the coming week, Sikcand says, "I am happy with the way the show has been received lately. With everyone working extremely hard, one can only expect the best from K Street.
