Ode to Shilpa Sharma- The single mother

Hello friends,
I have been meaning to write about Shilpa Aunty or Shila Sharma since a long period of time but was too lazy to have penned down my thoughts. Today being International Woman's day I thought I should give it a try.
Shilpa Sharma is one of my favourite characters of MJHT. I do not know if she is a widow or she is divorced but as a single mother is exemplory. She is smart, open minded, financially independent, educated yet very loving and sweet. I have seen single mothers among my family and friends. How much they need to struggle to raise their children.The pressure of being the father and the mother both to the child.The loving and nurturing mother and the strict protective father, both roles have to be undertaken by them.The time constraint and the socio-economic pressures both affect their lives terribly.Many end up being very irritable and frustrated but Shilpa Sharma is an exception.She is a winner in her own rights. Confident of herself while instilling the same confidence in her son.
She is a friend and a parent both to her son Mayank Sharma.Who grew up to respect responsibilities and women thanx to her upbringing.She has always instilled the right values in him and had allowed him to make his own mistakes for an instance take her reaction to the marriage of MN.Her behaviour towards Nupur has always been so loving and caring that Nupur was immediately reminded of her mother in her prescence.She never took her son's side in Mayank Nupur fights and honestly told him where he was wrong and she was right. They say that boys who grow up under a single mother are slightly feminine in nature as in a little delicate. but going by Mayank's character you can never say that.
I can confidently say that ALL MN fans are extremely fond of her. Most of our one shots, fan fictions have mention of her. It pains to see how she is not shown in the serial any more not even a phone call. How can a mother who is so caring not be in touch her son and daughter in law? i would also like to mention Vaishanvi Macdonald's contribution to the role .she has done an excellent job and whenever i see her in MJHT I feel so happy that i can't explain in words.
kudos to one of the strongest female characters on Indian television of the present times. I am really grateful to MJHt for giving such a character to us and hope she will be seen on MJHt on a more regular basis.friends please put in your views in the topic and for once give the character of Shilpa Sharma the recognition she deserves.i am not sure if i have covered all the points please share your ideas and make it better.

Mrs Shilpa Sharma - she is an inspiration for every woman, and especially single mothers.

She works and faces challenges of life with a smile and brave heart and thats what she taught her son 2.

Its difficult to raise a son for a single mother, but the way she brought up Mayank is commendable, she is not only a cool mom, she is a friend, a guide, philosopher and also the inspiration in Mayank's life.

It was awesome to see her interaction with Mayank.............she teases him, rebuked him and even got irriated with him..............

For me the best thing is she is so independent in her outlook towards life and thats what she had imbibed in her son.

She supported him throughout his love story.............and was never on the fence................

I absolutely adore her, and would love to see her interaction with Nupur...........as a mother figure to someone who never had 1....................

I love strong female characters on television and by strong I dont mean them beating up men or even being feminists, just simple strength of character displayed is such an encouraging thing to see.

It would ve been easier to show Shilpa aunty as someone who works hard for Mayank but is also someone who sheds her tears easily ..basically more like a filmy maa who cries buckets makes ghajar ka halwa for her son...who is the epitome of goodness etc....
BUT , surprise surprise surprise, Shilpa aunty is one bindaas mom, she is a single mother, hard working no doubt, but doesnt wallow in self pity, has a very realistic view of things, is practical strong minded and not bogged down easily. The best part according to me is the fact that she alternates making food with her son 😆.

Her practical, non-judgemental views and easy going nature is like a breath of fresh air on television crowed with cliched characterisation of mother figures.

the character is ofcourse taken to a higher level thanks to the naturalistic portrayal by Vaishnaviji.
It also helps that AB does look like her own son on screen, for not a moment would you stop back and think that they are acting, that is a great aspect of the relationship as well.

Well she is also a fine example of today's woman ..juggling many responsibilities and being the best in each field. Be it her work or her family.

Shilpa Sharma........ well she is one of the most relaistic characters od MJHT......

She is an independent woman. Someone who has brought up Mayank single handedly and has made sure that he also has the right values. It would have been so difficult for her but she faced all the challenges and emerged a winner.......

The way she cares and understands Mayank is truly wonderful.

When in a happy mood, she teases him
When Mayank is in a fix, she helps him solve his issues......

I love her interactions with Nupur......... Nupur sees a motherly figure in her.......

Best part was when MN meet her after their wedding, though she tells them they made a mistake , she still accepts them whole heartedly and supports them.

Lastly, i think Shilpa Sharmas character is realistic because its played by a brlilliant actress liked Vaishnavi Macdonald. She acting seems so natural that its hard to say that Arjun and her and not actually related.

Shilpa Sharma is truly d bestest mother...She has perfectly done d duties of mother as well as father to Mayu.....Shes nt just mother,father to Mayu...bt also d 1st best frnd of Mayu.....I can vry well say tht coz Mayu-Shilpa Aunty hv alwz been seen as gr8 best frnz other than bein gr8 mother-son duo...

Truly she symoblises d meanin of a perfect lady...Shes smart...adorable..lovin...undrstandin...matured....vry strong at her moral values...n wohi passed on to Mayu too....Mayank Sharma is a perfect person,,,,is onli bcoz of his perfect mom....Hes perfect in evry relationship is just bcoz his relationship wid his mom is d most perfect one...Its onli bcoz of her perfect upbringin Mayank Sharma has become d Mayank Sharma...

I love shilpa aunty.... she is one of the very few strong positive female characters on Indian tv....

Otherwise, we just find miserable positive women.. dont know why ppl love to see abla-nari.

She does represent the modern Indian Women, strong independent responsible with values.
abd she is defo one of the coolest parents to have.

Shilpa Sharma is one of my fav characters on indian TV..really miss her.. she is definately one of the best parent i've come across..her r'ship wid mayoo reminds me of r'ship wid my mom...she's a gr8 woman..kudos 2 her..nd Fantastic post :))

I cannot believe that anyone (man, boy, woman girl or child) could see Aunty Shilpa and not fall head over heels in love with her.

O' Shilpa Aunty, Wherefore art thou abandoned?
