This is the story of four sisters, Purva, Smriti, Aakashi and Anokhi who live in Nadiyaad with their parents, Sevantilal & Revti Shastri. Purva is a free-spirited girl who is grounded in the values given to her by her parents. Smriti is a nervous & shy girl who respects Purva a lot, while Aakashi is the beauty of the house- confident & vivacious. The youngest sister Anokhi, the most protected one, is a chirpy, young, college going girl.
It's the time of Purva's wedding with Amar, who is her best friend and a choreographer by profession. Smriti, who by then is already married to a good-hearted businessman, Mihir, is seven months pregnant. Due to an incident that occurs in the third month of her pregnancy, Smriti becomes paranoiac, making her emotionally unstable.
Tragedy strikes the sisters' lives when their parents are killed in a fire, a day before Purva's wedding. This changes the sisters' lives forever, especially Purva, who suddenly becomes the eldest and the sole support of her younger sisters. Here Amar and Purva's wedding is postponed and there Smriti who's unaware of the situation is excited to see her sister and jiju.
Sevantilal's elder sister Neema Fai who's eyeing his property and wants to get rid of the sisters plays truant and Smriti gets to know the truth. This news worsens Smriti's mental condition and she is hospitalized, where she gives birth to a baby. But since, Smriti's convulsions don't reduce; Mihir is left all alone to fend for the child. Here his mother Kamini, who doesn't like Smriti and her family, decides to get Mihir married off to a girl of her choice.
But certain circumstances arise for Purva to take her first stand in life, without the protection of her parents. She decides to marry Mihir for the sake of her sister's child. This news shatters everyone, especially Amar. So Purva and Mihir get married, on the pre-condition that she will be in his house as his wife only till Smriti doesn't fully recover. On the other hand Aakashi, after being ditched by the man whom she loved immensely, readily gets married to another man, whose proposal comes for her. But Aakashi gets a rude shock when her husband turns out to be ugly.
Here Anokhi who's learning dance from Amar, falls in love with him, even though he doesn't reciprocate. But an accident occurs in which Anokhi loses her limb and Amar feels responsible for it. And knowing Anokhi's feelings for him, out of guilt and responsibility proposes to marry her.
Now, Purva struggles to keep her married life as harmonious as possible and also sees to it that her sisters are happy. On the other hand, despite a shaky start, Aakashi's marriage starts to take a positive direction as her she realizes the goodness of her husband. But Purva's troubles are far from over when Anokhi realizes that Amar married her only out of guilt & that Purva had knowledge of it. Anokhi becomes bitter towards them.
What course do the sisters take in the ups & downs of their lives? Are they able to attain their destinies without giving in to what destiny itself has in store for them? Does the bond between them withstand the harsh tides of time? This forms the crux of this poignant story of relationships.
