Well he has the right to choose whoever he wants, it is after all HIS swayamvar, hd it been harpreet's swayamvar, she could have chosen the groom she wants to marry, the person he chooses has the option of whether of not they wanna marry the man.....there is no indication of whether religion was an issue in swati's case, or in harpreet's case, btw according to an article harpreet is in the final 3 š...also religion is a big deal in marraige, so even if that were the reason, it would not be inappropriate...
And why do you say that other religions aren't well supported in an hindu family, i believe that hinduism is one of the most tolerant religions in the world, and gives enough space to other religions as well, unlike almost all other religions where if you marry a person belonging to that religion, the hindu person is expected to convert into their religion, noone from other religions ever conver to hinduism, after they marry a hindu, and yet hindu's re the one being called intolerant.....unbeliveable....as if every other religion would be willing to accept a person from another religion into their family with open arms, and an open heart....

I totally agree...BUT, why did he shortlist a christian and a sikh girl in the first place?? when he had no intention of marrying outside of his religionš
