Watched the Kapil Dev episode today. The case was just a normal one...someone wrongly accused of murder, in this case it was Kapil Dev.

This has happened several times in CID, and in a couple of instances it has been Abhijeet and Daya as well.

I must admit I was a fan of Kapil Dev during his playing days...after all he is the only captain who has won us the world cup. But why on earth did he have to be brought into CID? Does it make the episode any more special? I don't think so. Some may argue that it is because Kapil Dev is a bad actor and that's the reason for this. But we also had Salman Khan, a famous actor making an appearance in CID. Did his presence increase our interest in CID in any manner? Not really...Give me 2 parallel re-runs(on Sony and SET max) of the Salman Khan episode and The Stolen Gun episode, I would any day choose the latter.

The makers of CID should realise that the real stars of CID are ACP Pradyuman, Abhijeet and Daya. Even if Big B, SRK or MS Dhoni make an appearance in CID, they cannot take away our attention from our trio.

We want to see more of our trio...not stars who are famous outside of CID. This is just not their territory.

See these cases are not generate more interest in CID, people are already interested in it, which is why stars come in, why would anyone be part of a show no one sees. They are brought into CID because people see it. These cases are mainly to showcase some tie-up and get more eye ball for the star who has been brought it. This is business, pure business decisions .

When Kapil Sir's episode had come, it was when he was doing some cricket related show for Sony. Sony had a tie up with Salman's film WANTED and his appearence on CID was for the publicity of the film. Or take Abhijit Sawant for instance, his album was just out in the market, they need more eye balls for him. CID does not need any of these stars for eye balls, its actually the opposite.

I totally agree. Kapil Dev episode was aired around 2002-2003. If i am not wrong. During that time may be this episode has created excitement among the audience. By that time CID team was not that old. But yes if now a days anyone see other super actor they cannot steal the show from our trio. In Kapil Dev episode there was No Abhi I was missing him. If any one of the three is missing it really feels something is incomplete

No,no...he was there...he made a special appearance in the last scene to take an autograph from Kapil Dev!!!

Kapil Dev's episode was very ordinary, I agree. Kapil ji couldn't act and was very monotonous. His expressions were not very well timed and weren't very good.

ha ha ha...... Oh It was Kapil Dev who made special appearance in CID.... Change the title name???? to 'whose special appearance'... It was Abhi who made the special appearance.....

I'll tell you what I honestly feel...some of you may not be happy with this.

Our great trio have great potential outside CID. Honestly they don't seem too committed to the show as they look in the re-runs. However good actors they are, beyond a certain limit they cannot hide their disinterest in the lousy scripts. Sony has probably paid our trio hefty sum to continue, because without CID, no one is going to watch Sony channel.

And Sony is cutting costs by bringing amateur writers because good script writers would want hefty amounts and they don't want to spend on that. Same with the wardrobes.

^^ Completely agree. Their expressions are lifeless and they deliver their dialogues lifelessly. They can still bring back Shridhar Raghuvan instead of wasting money on Nike, American Eagle clothes, they can do that. Honestly, yesterday, I felt that the best performer of the CID team was Vivek.

ya, you are right that the real star of the show is ACP, Day & Abhi
but kapil dev done a cameo in the show as per sony wish as he was brand ambassador of set max at that time (i have read about this in B.P. Singh interview)
and about rest of them, it depends on other choice (not only fireworks production) ....... some time actors choose the show as per the TRP so as to promote their movie
