| Two films from the Ram Gopal Varma camp that made constant news off recently were Darna Zaroori Hai and Sholay remake. Every week a new celebrity was added to the cast or crew of these movies. While we still don't know whether the latter will ever be made, the former, after much delay, finally sees the light of the day. Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Anil Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Bipasha Basu, Arjun Rampal, Suniel Shetty, Randeep Hooda, Rajpal Yadav, … the list just goes on. What more could you ask for from the cast? If Darna Mana Hai was big, the supposed sequel Darna Zaroori Hai is colossal. Bigger stars and multiple directors! Here again the movie has six separate episodes that end up to a common climax. Interestingly each of the six episodes is directed by a different director. So each story should expectedly be divergently different from the other in terms of the theme and treatment of the individual directors. Darna Zaroori Hai is the first Hindi film to be directed by six directors. As the trailer (cut as the current-craze of a promotional music video) opens showing Amitabh Bachchan's fingers spread on the floor lit with candles (as if he's performing a plan-Chet play), Nisha Kothari comes on the scene to perform the conventional item number. On a spooky-intended set full of graveyard crosses and fire rings in the background, Nisha dances amidst topless males to an Asha Bhosle number.
Entirely short in dark confines, the trailer of this supernatural thriller does initiate that mystery element and raises your curiosity level about the film. We expect more thrills and chills in the subsequent trailers of the film that perhaps might highlight each episode of the movie individually. Remember, a couple of years back, Darna Mana Hai had one of the best designed promos and publicity campaign
