Though telly actress Aashka Goradia (Kumud of Kkusum) is still reeling under the impact of a horrific car accident (as reported in Aashka's highway horror, on February 6), she is back at work, shooting for her new show, Jet Set Go, which will air on Star One.
Aashka Goradia shot for Jet Set Go with her arm in a sling
On Wednesday, she was in Matunga, shooting with a bandaged arm and constantly applying ice packs on her still slightly swollen face.
"We were having this promo shoot and I decided to get back to Mumbai. I just need to overcome the mishap, though the scene still haunts me," she says. On Thursday, the actress was in attendance at Star One's media meet to launch the show.
Recovery in progress
"I am wearing a pink bandage, so it can be camouflaged with my outfits. I am feeling better now, even though there is still pain in my chest. The doctors say that is because I was sitting in the front seat, besides the driver, and bore the brunt of the impact. There were no air bags in the car."

The wreck of Aashka's car |
The cast will remain on her arm for the next two weeks, while there are still stitches inside her mouth, "so I can manage my shoots," she explains.
Aashka met with an accident on Friday night, on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway, near Valsad. She was on way to Ahmedabad, for her parents' wedding anniversary, on Saturday.
Accompanying her were her three friends, Krishna (she's also Aashka's Mumbai flatmate), Arun and Vinita. Her driver was at the wheel of her Hyundai Accent Viva. The mishap occurred after three of the car's tyres burst.
The driver lost control of the car as it overshot the divider, and had a head-on collision with an oncoming truck on the other side of the road. Aashka suffered multiple fractures on her left arm and needed stitches in her mouth. Krishna also sustained injuries, while the driver and other two friends did not suffer nay injuries.
Passed accident spot
Says Aashka, "Despite the injuries, I did still cut a cake for my parents on their anniversary. Even though I ended up crying more on that day. My father accompanied us back to Mumbai. The worse part of my journey back was when we passed the accident spot, near Valsad. I had this eerie feeling when I saw the car on the side of the road. It is just a heap of metal. It has been written off. Looking at the car, we thought we were indeed lucky to have survived the crash. The wreck is horrific."
New wheels
Aashka had bought the car on her birthday last year. The mishap, however, has not put her off cars. "I can't do without them. In a couple of weeks, I will buy myself a new pair of wheels. Most probably, a Mitsubishi Lancer."
The actress says the new car will not be taken out of Mumbai. "It will not go beyond Thane, for sure. I want this to remain safe and sound," says the actress, who was also seen as Chandni in Zee daily, Piya Ka Ghar.
