He was working as a media planner with Enterprises-Nexus, an advertising agency when the Provogue ads happened. John is a strict vegetarian and belongs to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. He is a passionate man who is totally committed to PETA. He cannot see anyone hurting an animal and many a times he has managed to land himself into difficult situations due to this. The horseriders at Juhu beach have also threatened him if he ever interfered in their business after John pulled down one horse rider giving rides to children when he saw the horse was bleeding. John beleives in being physical if verbal warning do not work.

He is a complete romantic at heart and believes a perfect date is to take his woman out for a candle-lit dinner not to forget soothing music playing in the background. He is currently going steady with Bipasha Basu and they certainly seem to be made for each other. They share a good relationship and John is pretty cool about Bipasha working with her ex-boyfriend Dino Morrea.

John comes from a cross-cultural background. His father is a Malayalee Christian whereas his mother is a Parsi. Although he is a vegetarian now he loves Parsi cuisine. He is a very good son and he has bought his parents a nice flat at Carter Road and a nice car.
