I hav been watching asian dramas for some time now . They all have usually been suggested at the forum. How do you decide which drama to watch... is it the actors.. the synopsis of the story ..... the genre.... I am curious to know how all the members here decide on a new drama??????

Interesting question lol because sometimes I wonder why the heck I pick a drama to watch (esp. if the drama is a bad one)....

Basically, theres three things that pushes me to watch a drama:

1) Actors/Actresses - if the drama has an actor or actress I've enjoyed watching before, its definatley on my list to check it out, regardless of the story

2) Storyline - if the storyline is intriguing enough for me, I go for the first episode, if its gets me hooked..then I'm in (these usually end up being the really good dramas)

3) Word of web - this includes people raving about the drama on forums, the ratings of the drama etc....if people seem be interested in it alot...I'm curious enough to check out the first episode just to see the hype....

I like the random finds on forums, if a veteran member of a forum suggests a old drama i google it to get info and if the storyline is good i watch it, mostly i go by actors i think are good and then storyline PLUS my mood one minute comedy the next melodrama or romance, its never ending LOL !!!

I think I go more on the story then the chemistry of the characters. The hype never works for me. Coffee Prince and my name is kim sam soon are liked by almost everyone. I found Coffee Prince good (not great) and disliked MNIKSS. On the other hand I have really enjoyed other dramas that were never talked about.

firstly i look at the couple before watching any drama if they are cute and good looking then i research about the drama about their
story line and ratings...
and if the story is not great i just dont watch it...even if the couple is cute

Same here.😛
I Passionately disliked MNIKSS...it was the most annoying thing EVA!😆 I have no idea why people love it so much. Coffee prince was ok...it dragged and I felt stupid after watching it😕😆😆

Things I do :
  • Check my "ever-changing moody as hell" mood 😆
  • Check synopsis at DramaWiki.
  • Watch a fan vid on YouTube.😆
  • Eye candy < Storyline.
  • Eye candy < Actors that can act.
  • Episodic or fast paced storyline⭐️.
Lots of underrated dramas might not have eye-candy but if it has an good story-line then to me eye candy isn't a must. Best example would be Hana Yori Dango and Boys Before Flower. The Korean one had the hottest guys EVA! but miserably failed at delivering and executing the plot. It was such a pain to watch it through I would never watch it a second time although I freaking LOVE the Korean F4.

HYD didn't have the most good looking F4 but they could act to save their lives and they gave justice to the original characters and everything was perfectly executed. I could watch HYD million times and yet not get bored.

So above everything I need a good story-line matching to my precious mood😆 so I could spend my escapism time on it😆 and one other essential is that the actors MUST NOT HAVE annoying faces or sport exaggerated expressions. 😡😡😡
