new game- ragas

Hi... I see a lot of games here and i want to start this one. May not be as fun as the others..but its a chance to know which ragas some of our filmi songs are based on! This is the game i keep playing with my cousins always whenever am in chennai. We have had some animated discussions and wld love to get some here too:)

People who cannot identify ragas are also welcome to participate in this. You can post your fav song and the musicians here ( god..there r so many talented plp here) will hrlp u identify the ragas.

Also wld like to add that some of the film songs we hear are based on 2/3 ragas and they dont strictly follow one raga. But naming any raga in that song wld do. We can also try to find similarities between songs of the same raga.

Let me start..... I know that Abhi likes Mayamalavagowla. So, here goes a song in that raga- Hai rama yeh kya hua - Rangeela. My Fav song is Abhi na jao chodkar...My fav raga too..any guesses??

Sinha saab...u sure??? I did some checkings..ok...can u get me puria dhanashree arohanam/avarohanam/scale..and can ruby bindaas tell me the carnatic equivalent of puria dhanashree?? If i know the carnatic equiv of puria dhanashree then i can find out y it isnt mayamalava gowla.. 😊

I ve never heard carnatic equivalent but that song did sound....Im sure you can diff between them, lets see what Ruby ji says.
