Why only Ash and me grow older every year: Preity

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is in Dubai to celebrate her 35th birthday Sunday and has plans to cook Indian food for herself.

"Good afternoon guys! Chilling in Dubai for my birthday weekend! This is going to be the best year of my life, " Preity posted on her Twitter account Saturday.

"I have always wondered why Ash (Aishwarya Rai) & me grow older every year while all the other actresses either stay the same age or get younger? Any guesses?" she asked.

On this birthday weekend, the actress is also trying to cook some Indian food.

"Ok! Its my birthday weekend so now I am going back to focusing on me...he he he! Trying to cook some Indian food 4 my Indian tummy! Ciao, " Preity posted.

Preity, who has supposedly agreed to host a chat show for a TV channel, is very positive about the year 2010.

"2010 is the year for new beginnings! New and adventurous projects and even sky will not be the limit! Wait and watch...you guys! Luv you all!, " the actress posted.

Preity also admitted her admiration for friends Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar.

She also broke her silence by supporting SRK on a controversy that erupted recently when Shiv Sena's news publication 'Daily Saamana' claimed that Shahrukh has no grief over the lives lost in the 26/11 blasts, which were carried out by terrorist from across the border (Pakistan) when SRK gave a statement that Pakistani players should be included in IPL teams.

Preity exclaims, "Shahrukh is the most secular and fair guy I know. I think it's unfair to judge his movie based on his opinions."

The controversy has led Shiv Sainiks' burn the hoardings/posters of 'My Name Is Khan' across the Mumbai city.

"I do love Karan Johar and Shah Rukh! Both are very dear to me and I will defend them if someone writes nonsense about them, " she added. It will be interesting to see how SRK renowned for maintaining public-relations will tackle the situation. And also, by how far is Ms. Zinta correct with her statements on Shahrukh Khan.

Guys she said it as a joke. Her and Ash are really good friends and she considers Ash a really sweet person... She mentioned this earlier as well and in there she said that her and Ash were talking and joking over the fact that people only ask these two about growing older while the rest of the actresses stay young.... in a jokingly manner...

Well, rani is 31 as is bipasha. Maybe it's bothering her cuz ash and her are the oldest of the lot?? Kajol is of the same age, has a daughter and is well settled, and not to mention doing great cinema on her terms. Which other actress can boast of that? And what's the media gonna nag her abt? When r u having a second baby? Lol

I have to agree with you on this. Kajol is a superb example of being top actress, leaving stardom to get married and try to have children which she had to go thru a lot, then coming back to the cinema and doing good roles. Her life is all well settled adn the audiences are not sick of her. Ash, I like her an all, but now that she is married for last 3 years and she is 36 sheneeds to start family. For that she needs t otake time off. Adn if she is a true DIVA like kajol then even after babies she will be readily accepted. Its not going to be same all teh actresses as we have seen many married actresses trying to make a comeback but were not successful. So Ash needs to take it slow and focus on career.

your post is a bit confusing, do you think she should concentrate on her career at this point in her life or should she be taking time off to start a family? i know i cant speak for her but shes been working for a REALLY long time and what more does she wanna achieve? people wont forget her, thanks to the bachchan sur name- so its about time she started having babies, shes not gonna be young forever and her biological clock is ticking LOL, i know ash fans, dont get mad but its a matter of fact. Guys dont lose sperm even at the age of 70 theyre are capable of reproducing, women on the other hand not so much. and plus, does she wanna look like the grandma of her kids?
