Beautiful post Yakkudimag! I think you write really well.
I don't think I can elaborate on Women power as well as you have- you have already commented on the important points. So I will just stick to my POV with respect to this show.
We all know its just a show, but being sensible viewers, we like to criticize and take every thing that is shown to us with a pinch of salt.
I very well know that it a show based on two people from different worlds and what will happen once they get married. However, I feel that any union formed by force or fear is not the right message to be sent to the audience. What I would have liked to see was Krishna having a change of heart because of his love for Pratigya. I was not expecting an over night transformation, but atleast a start. But Krishna is still plotting and hatching plans and being his usual evil self. It would b very hard for me to stomach their 'love story' based on the kind of relationship they have now. Krishna was a stalker in lain and simple words- who is just obsessed with Pratigya. He has no clue what love is all about.
There was a movie some years ago- called 'Janwar' starring Karishma Kapoor and Sunny Deol I believe. Not that I was a big fan of the movie or anything but I think the theme of that movie was quite similar to the show and it was more positive. Sunny played a local goon and Karishma the unsuspecting good natured girl. Sunny fell in love with her- she was scared of him- but her love slowly started transforming him and she recognized what clean heart he has, and fell in love with him herself. So my point is, Sunny did not force Karishma to love him on gun point the way Krishna seems to be doing in this show.
I think this show sends out a very negative message to viewers. That its alright to indulge in stuff like harassing, stalking, threatening, beating etc . A goon would still end up with the girl. Whereas the innocent guy- Nitin- would be risking his very life just because he has been brought up with good values.
All those posts applauding Krishna for his violent streak are quite saddening indeed.
