I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, the standard of awards have been going lower and lower as the years pass by.

The only reason Priyanka even bagged the award was because Madhur Bhandharkar decided to make a movie with superficial research and pseudo facts to garner in credibility and accolades. Now it doesn't matter how the performances were and if they were even worthy of praises, but Fashion had to bag in the trophies just because it dealt with an 'intelligent' subject and was catered to an 'intellectual' audience.

Bollywood is an embarrassment these days to India - I understand that's a strong statement by me but whatev.

Fashion was a nice flick for me. A step forward in terms of characters and stuff was that.. it wasnt all black and white.. as in.. they didnt make the fashion industry seem like this big fat monster out there to get innocent people. The good bad and the ugly..everything was shown and there was reasoning behind everything.. every character was driven. And there were a lot of grey characters.. which makes sense cauz we all have our good and bad sides..The best thing I and many liked was how they showed how Kangana and Pri form these huge egos.. and their egos are the cause of demise of their career.. and not any external factors. Cuaz at the end of the day.. it is upon us as to what we make of ourselves.. and the fact that this movie didnt necessarily show the fashion world as the "bad guy" was diff from the usual treatment. And the part where Meghna mathur stands up for herself and finishes what she started is my personal fav.. the way she ruins herself and then picks up the pieces and rises again.. was great.
