Will Kulraj return to small screen?

Kulraj Randhawa made her debut in Television with the sitcom Kareena Kareena on Zee TV and was an instant hit with the audience. And from then on, she remained the sweet girl next door for a more than a year. Even though she started her career with television, the dimpled girl always wanted to be in films and wanted to see herself on the silver screen. And finally, after a long wait, she is going to fulfill her dream with her first film Mannat opposite Bollywood hero Jimmy Sheirgill.

"It was a very subtle romance. Punjabi films have a huge market abroad. And post this film I am in discussion with bigger banners though I can't reveal much at the moment", says the Punjabi kudi spluttering her eyelashes. After Kareena Kareena, Kulraj has not taken up any other television show. "I have got quite a few offers. But nothing that was different. They were all the same and weren't exciting enough. I don't know what happens in the future but I do not see myself doing television at the moment," says Randhawa.

"Now my fist priority is films. Moreover as television requires more devoted time and effort, I feel I won't be able to do justice to it. I want to take one at a time," she added. Very few are aware that she had a tough time with the production house as far as her payments were concerned. Nirvana Television, which produced the show, are rumoured to have not cleared more that half her money due for Kareena Kareena.

When quizzed about it, Kulraj (like many others) prefers to take a diplomatic stand. "Right now I would not like to comment on that. Hopefully things will work out soon." So she doesn't deny the problem either. Added to this bitter experience is the fact that the actress is not very impressed by the run-of-the-mill stuff going on in television at the moment (in an interview during her Kareena days she has said that she had considered Kareena because it was different kind of sitcom).

And considering the fact that she is more interested in films by her own admission, it's unlikely that the actress will do a serial very soon. So the next stop for Kulraaj will surely be Bollywood. Hopefully things will be smoother for her this time around. ]

Bipasha wants to act young!

Bollywood divas hate to get old. The very thought of hitting the 30s has always been seen as one big threat. Maybe that's the reason why many refuse to accept the fact. Actress Bipasha Basu is the most desirable woman of 2005, according to a television channel poll. Recently it was reported that Bipasha celebrated her 27 birthday on January 7. But a school junior of hers (from Kolkata) was surprised to hear this.

"My date of birth is December 5, 1978 and that makes me 27. How can Bipasha who was at least three years my senior turn 27 now? She never said that she had joined school early or had got a double promotion then. So that makes her 29 or 30, but definitely not less and I am sure of it," this journalist who works for a Kolkata based newspaper states.
S. Iyer (full name not revealed) was Bipasha's junior when she was studying at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata.

"I passed out from school (12th) in 1997 and when Bipasha became the Ford Supermodel in 1996 she was doing her graduation at Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society. But later I heard that she has been telling people that she had passed out in 1997," Iyer adds. Morever if the school leaving certificate of 1996 is checked, it would clearly state that Bipasha was around 19 and not 17 when she became the Ford supermodel. By the way no matter how hard one tries age does reflect on one's face and body. And Bips might be desirable but she surely doesn't look all that young!!
