I had thought Pavitra Rishta is a love story . It obviously is NOT as far too many factors overshadow it .........like the theme of responsibility , family , tragedy .........if at all a love element was being attempted to be shown , it has been buried below a lot of other issues .
Today it seems more like a story of a young woman's guilt and how she is wrestling with it as she is being held responsible for a young man's untimely death . The young woman is Archana and the young man who died was Sachin .
Archana's first crime it seems was not trusting her husband and being the role model pativrata wife . The punishment for this is she has lost her husband .
Archana's second crime is being responsible for her brother in laws death as her vahini made a police complaint that caused it .
Let us see the first crime . There is not a single character in this silly show , even Varsha , who says to Savita and Manav and the rest of the righteous Deshmukh clan that what was so bloody criminal about a young girl feeling scared , having doubts after just a 15 day marraige which had not even been physically consummated , that too after being shown blunt photographs of her husband with prostitutes and the police testifying in public that he was the one who bailed the pimp out ? What was normal......having doubts or not having doubts ? Why the hell were people expecting her to fall on her knees and worship her husband whom she barely knew and swear undying loyalty to him and falsely state that she KNEW him so all these accusations were false ? What did Archu know about Manav back then ? When two guys.......Ashwin and Ajit , well educated and well known in society were predatory stalkers in society and no one really knew them , how could Manav be exonerated just like that ? So Archana is at fault for showing some common sense and daring to doubt and hence this sentence is constanttly thrown on her face that Now you have come too late ? How come no one pulls up Manav and says No you took a lottt of time in clearing your name you nitwit ?
The second crime she supposedly committed is being related to Manju who did that police complaint that hastened the death of her brother in law . Now my dears , if this is a crime , isnt Manav also a criminal as he is related to Savita who indeed is a legal criminal for doing blatant dowry demands ? Is this logic any kind of logic or what ? And how can no character in this show point it out to Manav or the Deshmukhs who watch Archana being pushed , verbally abused , tortured by Savita who is a victim only coz her son died ? Many criminals r fathers , mothers , aunts and lose their relatives.........does that lessen the intensity of their crimes or makes them any less a criminal ?
For both of her stupidly alleged crimes [ yes there is NO other word ] it seems this perfectly normal girl has to give an agni pariksha . Now this agni pariksha it seems is watching her husband marry a second time , and also to break relations with her maayka by complaining against her evil bhabi .
Ideally the Deshmukhs shud be complaining against Manju . At the most Archu can testify that I was not tortured there , the charges were false . Manju wud go to jail for a false complaint . But why shud archu herself go and do the counter compaint if anyway the Deshmukhs are gonna kick her out and Manavs plan of marrying Shravani wont change ? Her one support is her parental home , where the hell will that poor girl go if she antagonizes them by pulling them in court ? Is there anyone human enough in this serial to even begin to understand how much they r demanding from Archana ?
The woman who had a secret alliance with Manju ......Savita , is staying hidden and she is cleverly and righteously urging Archu to do police complaint . Coz after she throws Archu out , Archu shud have nowhere to go . Why isnt Savita doing a counter complaint herself ? Any answers ?
Agreed Manju is evil . But Archana was neither wrong in being normal and doubting GOD Manav , nor was she responsible for Sachins tragic death .The person who was responsible , that persons daughter the Deshmukhs r embracing as if she is a goddess .[ Shravni].
The fact is the blood thirsty Deshmukhs want to rub it in Archus face that Manav will get on in life and also ensure that Archu has noplace to go after the 3 months due to hostility at her maayka . If u ask me the Deshmukhs r as bad as Rasika and Manju ........as they r purposefully punishing an innocent .
