Reena's stars
Home Shanti home
It's party time for Mandira Bedi. Her husband Raj Kaushal is ready to launch his new film and they've opened up their three-level palatial bungalow in Bandra for fun and festivities. The house, which she has designed herself, reflects her perfectionist nature. Everything from the stairway to the living room bears her stamp.

1. Passage to haven
Red and white: that is the colour scheme of this passage that leads to the bungalow. Mandira has made it clear to her staff that no cars should be parked here. The couple moved in here four years ago. Mandira reminisces, "When we came here, it was just another land. Raj and I spent a lot of money to make this a home."

The first room on the ground floor has been converted into an office and is used by Raj. This is where he has his meetings and narrations. As soon as Raj comes out of his den, Mandira insists that he get ready for the party. "Five minutes!" Mandira announces, setting the deadline for him. Pat comes the reply, "As you say, boss!"
3. Just shoot me
The frames you see have been picked from a hip lifestyle store in Bandra. The pictures capture those people who matter to Mandira. Incidentally she is fond of photography as well. She has select ed all these photos herself. Her favourite is the one that was gifted to her her by a fan. Some moments from her wedding also find place on this wall.
4. In good spirits
The bar you see in the picture has wines from all over the world. And just in case you have missed it, check out the cricket bat-shaped wine holder in her hand. It was gifted to her in Sri Lanka and has been autographed by the entire Indian cricket team. The perks of being involved in cricket, we say!

5. Time to disco
This is her 'party room' and Mandy wants it to be perfect. The intricate paper and wax candles you see have been ordered from Pondicherry. "I love to shop for my house," she confesses. Despite being a workaholic, she makes sure that her house is clean and dusts the furniture as often as she can.
6. The colour brown
Mandira loves to experiment and that was why she chose the colour brown for the walls of her living room. The unique and expensive furniture was bought much after they moved in. "The interiors of this house was done only a year ago," Mandy says. Paintings, candles and lamps are her passion. The embroidered curtains and cushions enhance the feel of the room. "Perfect! Isn't it?" she asks with a grin. We couldn't agree more!
