The top 9 contestants of 'Indian Idol 2' dazzle you with their talent while singing songs from the golden era of Bollywood, 50-70s. But the piece de resistance would definitely be Priyanka herself surprising everyone with her musical talent. Watch her as she sings 'Katra katra zaraa zaraa' from her film 'Karam' tonight on SET at 8.30 pm.
She left the judges Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, Farah Khan and co-star Kareena Kapoor totally spellbound. Exclaimed Priyanka, "I love singing myself… and I always aspired to have a stage like this.Priyanka was coaxed by Kareena to sing the song. When one of the contestants, Amey Date requested the two stars to sing, Priyanka promptly asked Kareena to sing the song she had sung in 'Dev'. Kareena in turn reminded Priyanka that she had a better voice and therefore she should sing.
It's been fun being with young contestants… they are talented bunch of people. All of them in their teens or just in early twenties.. they are young achievers!! I think Sony TV has given them a brilliant opportunity and platform of 'Indian Idol' to exhibit their talent in front of the entire nation. I am really delighted to be a part of this…" bubbled Kareena with excitement reflecting in her eyes.
The exuberance of one of the funkiest contestants of 'Indian Idol 2' oozes out in his performance as he sings Shammi Kapoor's 'Aja aja mein hoon pyar tera'.
Amey, who is arguably the best singer of the lot sings the Manna De classic, 'Laga chunari mein' daag' reducing Priyanka to tears. "It's my father's favourite song and he sings it all the time," she tells Amey. Amey got more praise from the other star guest Kareena who said "I may not be around to see you in the next two-three weeks. But as far as I'm concerned you're the Indian Idol."
The guy from down South, NC Karunya also hailed as the Abhishek Bachchan of TV will turn to another Manna De song filmed on Balraj Sahni ,'Aye meri zohrazabin'.
The guy from UP, Ravi Tripathi, gave up a career in medicine to take up singing. He takes a trip back home with Dilip Kumar's 'Nain ladgai hain'.
The shy guy who has smitten many a female heart with his killer smile retains his 'lover boy' image with Rajendra Kumar's 'Kaun hai jo sapnon'
The newbie, Anuj introduces himself to the world with the retro favourite, 'Bachna aye hasino' originally filmed on Rishi Kapoor.
