Bidaai Characters....A Character sketch!

Ok, so I thought of analyzing the characters in Bidaai....according to their present frame of mind and behavioral tendencies.

Now, before I start, kindly remember this is not a bashing post! Its just my POV, if you agree with it, kindly let me know how you feel and if you disagree with it, you are still welcome to post with your POV but no bashing allowed! Thank you!

Also, I'd like to state my POV that in my opinion, Bidaai is a show with 4 leads- no matter what others think and whether they think one character has more 'potential' visavis the other and so on. There are 4 leads, but then again, its just my POV! 😃

Anywhoo, lets begin!

Ragini: Ragini, Ragini, Ragini. My dear Ragini! One of my favorite characters from this show- Ragini! Its sad indeed what the Creatives (?) have done to her Character! I believe the term 'Character-Assassination' can be best described given Ragini's current behavior. She is not a patch up to her former self and I just don't get where the Creatives (?) are heading with this new direction given to her character. I can understand her being angry at Sadhna- this will come to light in my Sadhna's character analysis. I can understand her feeling betrayed. But I can't understand her mouthing big dialogues like - "I can't even see your face Sadhna". Be angry with her, don't talk to her if you don't want to, cry all you want to...but uttering these dialogues? Sorry! Completely weird and out of character. In fact, given the current scenario she is in, it would have made more sense if she was just shown lying on her bed and crying and mourning the loss of her child and the absence of her husband. They could have done a better job had they showed her as a statue rather than a person who is not in her senses and suddenly gets super human strength to come downstairs and mouth all those dialogues to her sister and completely disregard the presence of her dad. I really disagree with all those who claim that Ragini has always been like this - she has always been selfish etc..I am sorry! But it has been almost 2 years since this show started and the character called Ragini that was built in two years cannot be washed in the span of a month(?) . Though the creatives are doing their best to show her in a negative light, I really don't agree with those who say that Ragini has ALWAYS been like this. But yeah, she will have to go a long way indeed to redeem herself from all that she has been showering on her sister in this present track. I was in fact glad that now that Ragini is at the Rajvansh house and Sadhna at the Sharma house, they won't have any confrontations anymore and I won't have to sit though more weird lines spewing with hatred from Raginis end! But alas, that also is short lived, from what I saw in the Star Sansaar update. Really Creatives? Just to show this so called ' rift', you will twist and distort a character according to your own wishes? Where is the consistency! They have really taken the audience for fools!

Sadhna: Ok, so let me first get this out at the top of my head that I do not agree with her being thrown out of the Rajvansh house. I do not agree with the treatment meted out to her by her in-laws, more so by her husband. I detest every person who is responsible for throwing Sadhna out of the house. And I also detest all the characters at the Sharma house who are rolling out the red carpet for her ( read sarcasm). Now that being said, I feel that in the current storyline, Sadhna has not shone through completely flawless herself. It might have been her way and her upbringing to always tell the truth but it was the manner in which this truth was executed which was not true to Sadhna's character. First of all, Sadhna has been claiming ever since the trial in which she said the truth that 'mujhse jhooth nai bola gaya'. I disagree with this statement. Because it makes one feel that during that one moment, Sadhna without realizing, could not help herself in blurting out the truth. Whereas according to me, Sadhna had a problem with whatever testimony she was asked to give ever since the lawyer asked to her to say it(Remember she even ran off to Sharma house because she needed support). She even fainted the first time around in court. All this and other things clearly point to the fact that Sadhna always had a problem with lying in court. Thats all alright. The problem here according to me is, she did not share this fact with her in-laws. I agree that most of them were pressurizing her tremendously. Still, that being said, her saying to Ragini, "jiji , dont worry, Ranvirji jald hi ghar aayenge" while all the while having a problem with hiding the truth in court was kind of contradictory. IMO, she should have been honest right from day one and put her foot down and said that she can't give the testimony that the lawyer is expecting her to give. I kind of understood why Ragini felt betrayed. Any normal person would! At one end, a person is reassuring you that everything would go well, that the case would be won in their favor, Ranvir would be let out etc and at the other end , that person goes on to be the very reason ( reason because of her testimony and nothing else) that Ranvir is in jail.

Also, I feel that because of her not disclosing that she plans to say the truth, The case got twisted to a degree previously unimaginable. I mean, come on, she was the prime witness in the case! She just let out a 'haan' in the court and that was it! Where did the "this goon was coming on to me, trying to touch me/do something to me and had my devar not come on time, I don't know what would have happened" go? So yeah, for not letting the family know before hand (so that they could plan accordingly) Sadhna is at fault too.

Aalekh: If Character distortion is in fashion, then, Aalekh is the star of the month or maybe the past two months! Where did the old Aalekh go?! I think he has been the character/lead that has suffered the most!! I just don't get it. And its not just in the current track where he did not have the guts to support Sadhna but his general behavior ever since he showed signs of improvement- they have been just unexplainable! WTH is wrong with him? Before the current jail/rift track- I remember the scene in which Ranvir was driving with Saalekh to that resort. The way Aalekh was ignoring Sadhna! Hello!? Now him repenting and missing Sadhna is also weird IMO because he never appreciated her to begin with! He never learnt her value when he got all better so why is he missing her all of a sudden? His character graph is the worst and most inconsistent! I thought the creatives might have a reason for Aalkehs sudden weird treatment towards Sadhna but the web of misunderstandings they have created- do they expect us to all of a sudden forget his behavior prior to the jail track? Utterly despicable!

Sharmaji: Aaah, now what do I say for him? Yes, he has been a good mamaji. But a good father? Not so much! And here is why: Its been quite some time that Ranvir was in jail- has he visited Ranvir in jail even ONCE? I am sorry, but what kind of a father in law are you that you don't even have the time or fursat to visit your son in law in jail and offer him a few kind words of moral support and tell him not to worry- that everything will be alright beta, we will take care of Ragini! I really don't think he has been a good father in this track. Both the girls are his daughters.Full marks to him for what he is doing for Sadhna in the current track. But for Ragini? Raginis disregard of her dad is not acceptable. But neither is Sharmajis insensitivity towards his daughter and her husband. He is not the perfect father in my books, sorry to say!

Vasu/Kaushi: I think that their behavior is not something that either of us didn't see coming. In fact, surprisingly, these are the characters that have not been distorted by the CTs! Quite hilarious to just realize that. Did we expect Vasu to become all hitler-ish and pounce on Sadhna and throw her out of the house?! Yes! No surprises there! Did we expect Kaushi to spew venom and blame Sadhna for killing her daughters dream? Yes again! So I applaud the creatives for atleast making sure these characters did not have a body switch!

Nani/Malti/Vinu/Avni/Naveen/Inderjeet: Again, no surprises here. The less said the better. These characters are no worth my time and energy. LOL. No offence to their fans though!

Ranvir: So I saved Ranvir for the last. No prizes for guessing why! LOL. Maybe its the fact that he is in jail so does not really have the time to have an out of body experience or maybe its the fact that the CTs have decided to be reasonable and not distort his character too. But he remains the most real and untainted character in the current track. Mind you, in the current track. I am not talking about previous tracks here. So he remains pure , he remains true. My heart goes out to the poor guy for being completely oblivious to the outside world and passing his days by counting down to the day when he will be released and just looking forward to be re united with his wife and his kid- whose demise the poor guy is not even aware of. The Zoo that is out there- what a shock he will get when he will realize what has happened in his absence. Makes me think that his mere presence was the glue that held all the Bidaai characters together. Sad indeed. I wait for the day when he is released and can clean up the mess that is Bidaai.

Ok, the character sketch done. I'd like to ask you guys. Where is the old Bidaai? The Bidaai we all loved to watch. I miss the Bidaai with its simple story line where we watched the show not only for the great storyline but also for the power packed performances. Now, both the female leads seem to be just crying or fainting. One male lead is having an out of body experience. And the other is just missing in action. He is not shown for days to end. Is this acting? Are we supposed to appreciate them for portraying roles/ behavior that we are not even convinced with? The Bidaai I remember was so beautifully executed that even if we knew the future storyline thanks to various sources like SBS, SBB etc, we still watched it to see how it was directed, executed, planned, acted. The CT has just killed the USP of Bidaai with their own hands. No wonder it is not ruling the TRP charts anymore. Those people who are sticking out( like me) are watching it just out of habit because this show struck a chord for two long years. Now, its just a ghost of its past. I mean, they think we are such fools that they can appease us by showing us random flashback scenes where everything was hunky dory between the sisters or showing Ragvir Romantic scenes so that we starting oooohing and aahing and completely forget about the present storyline. Sad, sad and sad yet again. Is it time to quit Bidaai?

NOTE: I can't believe this post turned out sooo long! Thanks to all those who would have the patience to read through it and comment on it. Once again, I am not bashing the characters. Its just my POV on the current storyline.

Thanks Dharaa! Had been a long time since I posted in the forum. The storyline frustrated me so much that I just didn't feel like. I guess today all the pent up feelings came pouring out!

And good luck for your exam, hon. I am sure you will do well. As for English- go by this mantra. The less you study, the better you will do! Trust me! šŸ˜† English is one subject where I have found that I always did better if I had a sound sleep and didn't fill my head with too much information! Keeps your head clear for ideas for the writing section. šŸ˜†

Anyways, will wait to hear your POV tomorrow! Good luck!

hey isabel 😃
Yeah and we needed members like u right now lol šŸ˜†
Yeah i follow this always, actually i follow this rule in every exam, i go to give my papers with my head completely blank šŸ˜†

Well, isabel, wont say much about others, or else many will say that i am comparing characters again *rolls eyes*

Ragini according me is not wrong in the current situation, she is just not acting that strongly right now, but she is not wrong...and i still have a hope that after everything Ragini will def emerge as the strongest person.

and about Ranvir, he is the BEST, truly the BEST character in bidaai right now....i remember that live interview that Aalekh might have a strong role to play but Ranvir is like the thread that binds the whole family together and now in this track, its clearly seen that whatever Parul said was actually true.!!

Isabelllllllllllllll šŸ¤—. Yaar it is perfect analysis of the characters.

Isabel, you have dissected each and every character and resoned very well. Truly I used to love mamaji so much and seeing his rapport with his two daughters, how he stood like a pillar of strength for botth of them. But in the present track or may be in the recenet tracks he is not the same father whom i used to love but then he is a good mamaji.

But I hope that before ranveer is out the jail everything between ragini and sadna should be sorted out. This time I dont want any body to make ragini realize but she herself.

he he..you r soo right Dharaa...Parul was quick enough to support Kinshuk there... but what ever she said was soooo true..... Even though Alekh is a strong character..Ranveer is like a diamond in the jewel..he binds the family together and makes it shine bright....
