Confused about Mitwa

Hey guys, i am from the UK and as you know we are well behind and urm...i have jus recently started watching bits of it. I watched the part where Sargam's child Bela has been born and then I missed a lot of episodes and now I'm watching the part when Bela's family find out about Bela's and Birju's relationship. My question is when Bela's grandad i think, go and batter Birju up, they get his Mother Kanta, but they go that they had killed Kanta's family...If that is so, then who is Birju?? That's what I'm confused about...😕

Also, could someone give me a quick update on what had hapened to Sargam and Bela after she was born? How did the family react and all?

Birju is not Kantas real son, his mother was from a high caste family and his father wasa from a lower caste family, birju was born just before the couple got caught so they gave birju to kanta to bring up as they knew that they would be killed by mamchand and were worried that he would get killed also. She brought him up as her own son so that no-one found out.

Kanta was a midwife and was helping deliver a child when she could only save the mother or the child (which was a boy) she chose to save the mother and let the boy die, as her punishment mamchand killed her whole family.

Sargam hid the fact that she had a girl from the whole family as she went to give birth at her mothers house, when they did all find out she was told to leave the house with the child but bela's father said that he would go with them, mamchands wife then begged him to let them stay as she did not wish to lose her son so if did but doesnt acknowledge them in any way a few years later sargam gave birth to a boy and as her punishment for keepin bela her son was taken from her and given to the middle sister-in-law, that is who soham is now.
