NM Ranks Highly In Movie Mistakes list 2009

While The Twilight Saga: New Moon was a fantastic portrayal of Stephenie Meyer's story, it was not free of the various continuity errors that seem to find themselves into films on a regular basis.

According to Movie Mistakes' calculations, there were twenty-nine errors in New Moon (the same amount found in Night At The Museum: Battle Of The Smithsonian).

Some of the errors included in the list for New Moon were as follows:

• Bella's bite mark scar is not in the position it should be, compared to where James actually bit her in Twilight.
• When Jacob first shows off his tattoo, it is up at the top of his shoulder. Then when he is in the forest at the end with Bella and Edward, his tattoo is about 2 inches further down his arm.
• In the opening sequence of the moon changing phase to reveal the "New Moon" title, the moon is actually upside down. Easiest way to tell is because the Tycho crater appears on the top-right as opposed to bottom-left as it is visible from earth.

That last one is a little funny, actually, considering the opening phase-changing was remarked by director Chris Weitz to be a methodical and very purposeful moment in the movie.

You may also be interested to know that in their listing for the year, Movie Mistakes placed New Moon as the fifth most flawed film of 2009, just behind Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (with seventy-one mistakes apiece). No film compared to Zac Efron's 17 Again, though, which had a whopping ninety-four mistake (ninety-four!) and took the top spot for movie mistakes in 2009.
