Asin isn't my favourite, I just liked her in the episode of Tere Mere Beach Mein with Deepika. 😊
I'm disappointed in ANY celebrity who choses to endorse a fairness ad.

LOL.. that is ironic!! I remember having a hillarious debate on this issue.. I still say it.. I think its their personal choice.. we can't blame them! But I guess the fact that they are privilaged to begin with and have the power to make a difference in their own way in society so they should think twice before supporting a brand.. I read a very interesting article.. where they said that someone approached Aamir khan for a book launch. And Aamir said that he would read the book and if he likes the book then he would be part of the lauch for free.. cauz he believes that a good book is priceless and he would be happy to launch it.. if he likes it.. Now that is hawt!!! If and only if.. celebs started being more innovative and trendsetting then they would gain more fan following and also do great in life.

Personally, I don't give a shit about the celeb's natural skintone. Just the fact that they're doing it makes me dissapointed in them.

Agree with you Adios -- at the end of the day it's their personal choice - I don't question it - But I question the coherence of their arguments for doing so, when the main one is money and then prestige (the brand - the ad and so on). And another thing that bothers me it's when they endorse bleaching creams then say to people that racism is bad and so on..I don't like the double language..If you endorse a bleaching cream, then fine but don't lecture people about crossing skin color boundaries in India...LOL
That's a bit hypocritical...I just don't like when my fave is being hypocrit ---
I like what you've written about Aamir it does sound like something he would do (I have seen his conference-meeting with Hilary Clinton and I know he's very concerned about the education system in India) --- And yes if you participate in a brand launching, it's worth knowing what it's all about instead of showing up like a muppet lol and just being there for the cameras..and yes a good book is priceless...
Endorsing products is a way to gain money and public attention for stars and yes I don't blame them for soing something which is legal in India, so I know it's more about business than their personal views about skin colors, but somehow they're role models for a lot of people (young ones especially), so they should think twice before associating their names to a product which reflects some values and principles...Endorsing that kind of product means that you endorse those values and principles as well..
It's not like it they would starve or something if they didn't do those ads.. (I mean for some of the Biggies)...
Anyway they know what it's best for their purse and image...
I have to say I was really disappointed by SRK on this..really really...😭

I agree Lil! I know that its a personal choice and its hard for us to put ourselves in shoes of young debutant actresses who go out there and try to get a career in bolly, but still I guess we always expect the best of and from our favs. I love the stuff that Aamir stands for in his movies and also endorsements and look where it has taken him. His movies are smash hits, he gets critical acclaim and is one of the most loved celeb. The point is it all comes back to you, whatever your actions are they come back to you in a good or a bad way. Its always good to be smart and stand up for meaningful issues for celeb cauz audience is getting smarter and more vigilant and they do end up supporting good causes.
