I think you may be right but are shows like FG, II2, SRGMP representative of India as a whole? How many people in India actually watch these shows and vote? We shouldn't use reality TV to judge this.

I agree that in these reality shows, TALENTED and DESERVING female singers don't get their dues with respect to voting. In II2, the top three contestants were all male. Same in SRGMP Challenge 2005 though Nihara and Himani were equally as good and even better than some of the male singers. But in II2, I think the trend is audiences are scared of DESERVING and TALENTED singers. The same may be true of SRGMP. Why else would the most talented contestants receive the least amount of votes? Its not just gender, but a lot of factors that go into play with such shows like who is voting, why they are voting for their favorite etc.

I think we should see each contestant as a singer first. If we do, the most deserving, talented singer will win.

Dilpreet was awesome in the piano round. Wish she had come back. I wonder which other contestants auditioned again besides Anuj.

you know....i 1000000000% agree with you....let me give the reason as well...

we know that the majority of viewers of these shows r females...lets say

60% female and 40% male

Now...out of this 40% male, tell me how many will vote...very very few....

And out of 60% girls....many will vote...and obviously girls will vote for boys....

Moreover, girls are most passionate about these shows and their contestant...have u seen any guy saying 'I love Meenal' or 'I love Monali'....ya boys do like girls but they are not as passionate as girls...on the other hand, we have seen so many girls saying 'I love Panna or I love Amey'....

Just tell me if there had been a girl in place of Qazi, would she have got as many votes as Qazi got?...NO

and thats Y I can gurantee u that no girl can win II....thats for sure...but having said that I never mean that girls are less deserving, they are sometimes more deserving than boys...like Prajakta

Rooprekha winning is proof enough that woman CAN win.

But i dont think they shud judge THE WHOLE THING on audience's votes!

The viewers votes shud be a guideline not the exact option
