It often adviseable for a writer to visit a place that he/she is writing about. In this case it would have been a good idea for them to have actually visited a doctor's clinic that dealt with abortions.

OK, may be this was a really bad doctor with the scariest staff picked from the latest Stephan King novel, but give me a break, this is really beyond belief. First and foremost the nurse was a mean and insenstive woman who was short and rude to Neetu and Simi. A torturer in a horror movie displays more consideration than this nurse managed to convey Also, who puts pictures of babies on the wall in which you perform abortions (may be the nurse)? Even worse was the lack of sanitation and hygenie. Exposed blood and what was possibly an aborted feotus just lying there by the sink in a room and all handled by the nurse without wearing gloves. I am amazed she holds down a job or is the doctor just like her? Are there no standards in India??
I was aghast at the whole scene. Was this an attempt to move in a anti-abortion stand? If it did, that was a pretty good job on the part of the writers. Or was this the only way the writers could make the whole concept of having an abortion so unappealing in an attempt to explain why Neetu would back out of it along with every young and naive girl watching the show who might find herself in a similar predicament - pregnant out of wedlock?
The issue of abortion could have been done in a very delicate manner and still have Neetu decide against it. What was the need for showing a horrible nurse and exposed blood everywhere? The writers could have had Neetu come in with Simi and speak with a nurse who discusses and counsels them on their present situation. During that time the nurse would be able to educate and advise Neetu on the pros and cons about abortion. So much could have been done to use this as an educational medium. The whole matter could still have ended with Neetu's reluctance to move forward with an abortion - it's not an easy option. Yet the writer relied on cheap tactics and lies.
I don't know what is wrong with these writers; the rubbish they create just to make things dramatic. The bank senario was awful and this was even worse. Seriously, which numbskull is writing this show? Someone should tell them not to quit their day job.
As for Sargun Mehta; she really needs to go to acting school. All I ever see her doing is hyperventilating in every scene. By the way, I can do a really good impressonation of her crying scenes. I have everyone in stitches. Her whole performance is so overdone and melodramtic that I have no remorse or care for her character when she cries or is that cyring a cross between a very bad panic attack and howling?
Am I alone here or do others feel the same?

Laila,
Instead of quoting your entire post, I am just commenting on few of the lines -

* Nurses do not wear gloves when they handle the bad stuff. A BIG YES!!!!
During my recent stay in India, I spent so much of my time in hospitals, these are top hospital in India and yes the nurses do not wear gloves when they handle such stuff.
I used to get so jittery and ask repeatedly when needles are poked! For the rest of the stuff all you get is a LOOK as if I am from a different planet!
Not just nurses, even most of the doctors do no wash hands before or after they touch patients!

But I do not know what the intention of the creators were when they showed the bad part in todays episode.

* Bank scene was dramatized. But yes, some people are down right rude for no reason and do not explain to the already helpless and confused customers.
I have seen it done to mainly the elderly. If you or me go, they can know what we are from the looks and never dare to do such things, but elderly, yes, they are mistreated and I have seen it.
It is not just bank, take anywhere else where common people have to deal with others to get their things done!

* The above two are just examples, there are so many things that I can write but this forum isn't for that.

* Oh, I shouldn't forget - I love my country, there are good things, there are bad things, still I'm Indian. Similar to the bad examples there are lot of good examples too, but as I said, this forum is not about INDIA.

* Yes, Neetu is hyperventilating these days but IMO her crying is better than Simi's howling, atleast till now whatever I have seen.

am soory bt the hospital scene was not accurate..even in PHCs (primary health centres)there are better hygiene conditions atleast regarding blood..
@bee, maybe doctors do not wear gloves while examining pts bt while handling blood?i do not know which hospital u had been to,bt 99% medicos do not take chances while dealing wid blood..medical and paramedical staff has hell lot of exposure to infectious materials and ne1 who loves their own selves take precautions..blood spreads dreaded infections like HIV and HEP-B and as far as the abortus being in the sink, hell no..atleast not in a place like delhi..it mite happen in a quake's 'clinic' bt not in a certified place..
moreover,a 1st trimester abortion DOES NOT require surgery...it is a medical abortion with drugs....tht is the biggest blooper in the scene..so unless neetu is suddenly 3 mths pregnant, all this was not needed..

Laila Even I saw the picture of the mom holding the baby and wondered that how can they have such a picture if thois is the room where someone is getting aborted !! Even if you don;t want the child somewhere that person looking at the picture of the innocent child would'nt want to kill her fetus !!!

And yeah the way the whole scene was like some horror film and a murdered is getting ready

Is this some clinic of some famous known doctor and how come they show it like a haunted hospital

Well noticed Laila

That was horrible and sickening to watch for some one who even lost a baby thru miscarraige. I was feeling sick watching all that an did not have hearts to watch such scenes, How can they show such in family show and to a person who comes for abortion out of desperation. The blood and knife and all that can scare even the strongest person. What were they trying to do make a preg woman run away from their cilinic,
So true it was like a scene from horror movie.

Thanks for pointing that out too. I was stunned at the "operating" materials just lying out there. It looked like something you would see in a back alley unlicensed clinic.

Bee, I am Indian too. I was born there but not raised there. So my comment is not to put down on India or Indians (that's like insulting my family), it is just that these things astound me and really make me aggravated.

Laila,
Nope, I didn't take your comment as anything against India.
But I put that only for myself. You know we are on public forum and I need to CYA myself isn't it?
I still stand by everything I wrote. Somethings are wrong are wrong and here I pointed out only 2.

Anu Rulz,
By doctors "touching" patients, I meant when doctors do simple physical examination of the patients and no, I am not talking about blood being involved.

Laila while I do stand in absolute awe of ur eloquence on all things KB and admire ur initiative in calling zee tv. I do have a few questions regarding this particular thread. I have jumping eye syndrome so have to go over and over written material to make sure i havent missed a word.
Can u please tell me what is Hammar House?? i googled it but it came up nada, dictionary.com and urbandictionary.com too dont have it listed. the only thing i cud find was a reference to a village in Yemen on wikipedia.
The second point of course is the literary reference, is it stefan as in stefan zweig or stephen as in stephen king?? google lists only a stephen king as an author and wikipedia lists him as an author of contemporary fiction, a genre i am not familiar with.
So am I right in assuming its Stephen King??

How true but can u be sure they didnt??

do u mean the lady was resentful because she was shorter than simi and Nitu?? I can say from my personal experience at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad that there are standards.

Perhaps the writers are, as you pointed out in another thread "morons". I think this was the word you used??

Someone should show some initiative and send them the excellent storyline suggestions posted on this forum.

Sargun does cry a lot. Is acting a hobby of urs?? I am positive we wud all love to see this.

Am I alone here or do others feel the same?
