Deepika Padukone to endorse Neutrogena Fine fairness in India

Post breakup she's lost a lot of weight

picture: Viral Bhayani

At an event in Mumbai yesterday (Dec 7), where she was announced the brand ambassador for skin care brand Neutrogena's fairness cream, Deepika Padukone was asked a lot of questions by the media about her breakup with Ranbir Kapoor.

Deepika gave some quick and witty answers to all of them.

When asked what she had to say about her break up, she calmly said that a lot has already been said and she did not wish to say anything more. She kept her spirits high in the face of all the questions and kept smiling.

On being told that Ranbir confirmed to a newspaper that he misses her, she said that lot of people miss her because she has an effect on them.

She also told the media that there is nothing more to say as her looks itself say that she is very happy.

Even though she wore a smile on her face to confirm that, her body seemed to say that she has been depressed post her split.

This was Deepika's first public appearance after almost a year and she looked much thinner than she had been earlier, indicating that the breakup has had an effect on her health.

What is this obsession with fairness creams in India? And actress endorshing them?

I though Deepika was the smart one, really disappointed this time.
Its time we started becoming proud of our identity & our skin colour is part of our identity.

Smart? All these starlets are after the same entity: fame and money. Nobody gives a shiz about what impression it might make on the teens in such a color conscious society. I just hope this one does not go on Oprah and say, " I have never endorsed fairness products and will never do so". Oh but Oprah is ending....thats right....hurray for me!

Any actor who endorses fairness products gets a 👎🏼 from me. Be it SRK or Priyanka or Deepika or Sonam or Preity Zinta or anyone. These public figures should know better.

I feel sad to see esp. the ones endorsing fairness creams when they made it big in their Brown skin. Instead of being proud of Brown skin why go and endorse a product that asks young women to get clean-milky-spotless skin. 🤢

WTF?

Absolutely ridiculous.

Why cant they just endorse like skin care products, if they really wanna earn money? So frigging disappointing. People need to learn how to stay happy in their own skin. If these stars promote crap like this then the average girls are gonna be like "oh deepika is doing this so there must be something wrong with my skin color"

I dont think I can add more than that has already been said. Seriously, fairness cream? Another person to play into the stereotype.
