She has a black handbag...and I have no idea what are you talking about (you really mean that clutch bags are the only thing women could carry with evening wear).

clutch bags are often carried, but its definitely not a style boo boo to carry a nice leather bag on your shoulders. Almost all the designers bags- Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Jimmy Choo, Chanel- have a collection of evening bags which includes handbags (with shoulder strap) and not just clutches.
