I am not in support of Arjan physically abusing Khemi.
However, as you say Nik he is justified in being upset and insecure with Khemi-Hiten relationship however platonic it was or is.
Trust is a word that is used very easily in any relationship be it husband-wife or parents-children or even friends. But, trust is something that is built over time, it accumulates and enhances its nature and magnitude as the relationship grows. At the same time, trust is a very vulnerable commodity and can be broken with the slightest misunderstanding.
Khemi and Arjan did not grow up in the same village, they were strangers and they got married. After marriage, Arjan suddenly hears from a third person that his wife loved and nearly eloped with another man (a man who is better than him in every respect). He is unable to accept the level of understand and comfort between Hitmi. It is his insecurity that is his problem.
Khemi is not doing anything to help in the matter either.
She is here to help with the wedding - correct; but she is uncomfortable with Arjan and it is obvious she is very comfy with Hiten. This is a real mess and Maulik is going to make a monster out of Arjan.😡
