In a statement, Raj Kundra said "my wife and I separated nine months ago and filed for divorce four months ago; we had agreed a mutual divorce. The reasons for the divorce are too personal for me to discuss and it would bring down my ex-wife and I do not wish to stoop down to her level as it's very degrading. At this time I had no association with Shilpa Shetty whatsoever."

Kundra said he was introduced to Shilpa three months ago by her manager Farhath Hussain with a proposal to launch a perfume with her. "Thus began my professional association with her."

"My wife has made an accusation that Shilpa was the reason my marriage broke up which is untrue as I had no association with Shilpa at the time of our separation."

Kundra said his association with Shilpa is "purely professional" and they have become good friends over the past few months.

The London businessman said he had bought his ex-wife her house in January and that's where he used to go and meet his daughter. "Kavita did not want me to have any access to my child and fought the battle in court against me and the court gave consent orders to Kavita on May 2, 2007."

Kundra said Kavita's statements have been hurtful and had a damaging effect on his association with Shilpa.

"I regret that my personal situation has led my ex-wife to attempt to damage the reputation of a highly acclaimed celebrity. I would simply like to take this opportunity to apologise to Shilpa Shetty and her family for my ex-wife's shocking allegations and request the media to not give such claims so much attention without verifying the facts," he said.

Thats what i was thinking...but then wouldn't there be a sikh wedding?
They're having a hindu wedding i think...maybe he wanted to keep the beard & shave it later 😆

i am loving the whole look for shilpa. only thing, why doesn't shilpa has ghoonghat or somehting, i guess they don't usually wear those.

somehow, I get the impression that the timing of what he says is not quite right. I suspect the divorce settlement included his wife clarifying that Shilpa was not responsible, something her PR conscious family made him do. Whatever it is, I cannot imagine his kid looking at these pictures years down the road and thinking -"wow, my dad moved on really fast."
