"We're here!" Kiran sang as she opened the door to Meera's bedroom.
"Way to knock," Meera glared.
"What—you're changed and plus the door was unlocked!" Rubina smirked. "Anyways—we met jiju downstairs,"
"Why do you call him that?" Meera glared again, putting on her earrings.
"Because he is her jiju," Kiran frowned before lounging on the bed. "Besides—what else would we call him by?"
"His name? Like normal people?" Meera grinned.
"Too unoriginal," Rubina waved her hand. "We've gotta be unique."
"Know what I still don't get?" Kiran sighed.
"What?" Meera asked.
"How the two of you even got together—that first meeting wasn't what I'd call, 'love at first sight.'"
"If only you knew," Meera sighed.
"There's a story behind this?" Rubina narrowed her eyes at Meera.
"There's always a story behind everything," Meera shrugged.
"Details NOW!" Both the girls grinned as Meera launched into the story.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"I don't care Rinki; I'm not meeting him just because you think I should." Meera gritted her teeth as she walked through the mall with Kiran.
"Give me the phone." Kiran outstretched her arm to talk to her twinnie.
"This is going to be interesting," Meera commented handing her the phone.
"Rinki, you really think so?" Kiran grinned.
"Oye!" Meera yelped. "You're supposed to convince her against it!"
Kiran shrugged. "You can't say no till you've met him. It's like watching House. No judging till you see it."
"Nice comparing skills," Rubina told her through the phone while Meera rolled her eyes.
"I know right?" Kiran smirked before glancing at the annoyed look on Meera's face. "You really think they should meet?"
"Definitely." Rubina grinned. "You're his sister what do you think?
"True true," Kiran grinned.
"Crap," Meera muttered under her breath before shaking her head and going the other way.
Kiran was too engrossed in her conversation to notice and so Meera took the chance to go in the opposite direction of the mall.
"She's gone." Kiran said suddenly.
"Say what?" Rubina frowned.
"Meera...kinda...disappeared," Kiran sighed.
"What? Go find her!"
"I've got her phone, and I highly doubt she'll come if I page her." Kiran groaned. "I'll wait by the entrance that we came in from. She has to get to the car right?"
"Hopefully." Rubina sighed. "I'll be there in a bit and I'll bring him too."
"Got it," Kiran pressed the 'off' key on Meera's phone and groaned. "Where did she go?"
~*~*~*~*~*~
As she rushed through the mall, she cringed at the florescent signs of sales. She wanted so badly to stop and visit the shops but she knew if she did Kiran would find her.
A blue sign caught her eyes as she walked past her favourite jewellery store. Keeping her eyes on the sign she bumped into someone who steadied her as she was about to fall.
"Whoa!" A husky voice rang in her ears as she closed her eyes. "Are you okay?"
Meera frowned as she tried to push this strange man's hands away from her body.
"Sorry," He pulled her to stand up right and let go of her body. "I'm sorry."
"I'll bet," she muttered under her breath as she frowned down at the floor.
"'scuse me?" His hazel eyes flashed and she raised her eyebrow.
"I'm sure you heard me," She turned to walk when she heard him call after her.
"Maybe next time you don't have to wear death traps when you're walking," He smirked looking down at her heeled black boots.
"Oh I'm sorry—how does my footwear concern you?" She stomped back to him and glared. "If you weren't all touchy feely, I might've even thanked you for saving me from hurting myself but you? You're so full of yourself."
"Me?" He scoffed. "Forget it. Girls like you are always prissy." He turned on his heel and walked away.
"Prissy?" Meera gaped after him as he disappeared from view.
"God Meera!" Kiran latched onto Meera's arm and hit her forehead. "Why did you run away like that?"
"I'm not prissy." Meera frowned.
Kiran gave her a confused look. "I never said you were?"
"Not you," Meera snapped. "This stupid guy,"
"Ohh! Was he cute?" Kiran grinned.
Meera stopped and turned to glare. "First of all you've got Akki, so stop eyeing cute guys and second of all he was jerk so it doesn't matter if he was cute or not."
"Meaning he was cute?" Kiran smirked.
Meera started walking and grinned. "Yes Kiran he was, but but but he made fun of my pretty boots,"
"Well duh!" Rubina called out from behind them. "Those things are death traps!"
Meera and Kiran both turned in the direction her voice came from and Meera's mouth dropped open at seeing Rubina standing next to the same guy who insulted her.
"What are you doing with HIM?" Meera glared.
Rubina glared at Meera. "What is your problem?"
Meera shrugged and Kiran interrupted. "I can't believe you're actually here!" She grinned and went over to him giving him a hug, leaving Meera gaping.
"Do you guys know each other?" Rubina finally asked, seeing the Meera and him with their eyes locked on each other.
"Not at all," He smirked, leaving her stunned. "We just met, but neither of you two have introduced us yet," He added.
"Right," Kiran grinned. "Meera, this is Harshad, my brother. And Harshad this is Meera, one of our friends."
Meera's mouth dropped open and she struggled to close it before frowning. "Your brother?"
Kiran nodded.
"Pleasure to meet you," He took her hand in his and smiled while she raised her eyebrow.
Kiran nudged Meera and she shook her head. "Umm same here."
Kiran took her arm and started walking. "Rude much?"
"Sorry," Meera sighed. "It's just that the guy..."
"Oh the cute guy?" Kiran grinned. "Guess what Rinkz?"
Rubina ran up to them with Harshad following closely. "What?"
"Meera met a cute guy today—but he dissed her."
"How'd he do that?" Harshad asked.
Meera's eyes flashed at him and he smiled innocently back.
"He made fun of her boots," Kiran nodded.
"Rightfully so," Rubina grinned.
"Shush it." Meera crossed her arms.
"Make me," Rinki shrugged.
"ANYWAYS!" Kiran interrupted. "Yeah so they met and he completely insulted her—but he was cute,"
"That makes it okay?" Rinki grinned.
"No," Kiran shrugged. "I'm just saying."
"You thought he was cute?" Harshad asked. "Even though he insulted you?"
Meera groaned. "Thanks Kiran,"
"Welcomes!" She walked off into a store with the other three waiting outside.
Rubina stood next to Meera and elbowed her while Harshad was busy with his iPhone. "Whacha thinkin'?"
"I'm thinking I rather be curled up at home with a good book," She groaned. One glare from Rubina and she grinned. "Sorry but yeah he's fine...wait! Is he...?"
Rubina smirked and nodded. "Yup,"
"So because I declined you brought him here with you?"
"Basically." Rubina shrugged.
"Rinkz!" Meera whined. "That's so uncool."
"You don't even know him," Rubina frowned. "Why are you being so rude?"
At that point Meera didn't have any answers but now two years later she finally confessed why she had a problem.
"So that was why the both of you were glaring and smirking at each other?" Kiran gaped.
"Precisely," Harshad appeared at the doorway of the room he shared with Meera.
She looked up and saw him smiling at her.
"You're the one who called her prissy?" Rubina smiled. "Nice job!"
Harshad cringed at the mention. "Let's not remind her. I actually do want this marriage to last longer than the one year."
Meera smiled and shook her head. "It'll last. You should go down though. Hum thodi der mein aajayenge,"
"I still need to change," He stepped into the room.
"Our cue to leave," Rubina winked as she both she and Kiran left the room.
"So why was our story being narrated two years after the fact?" He smiled before disappearing into the walk in closet.
"They were both just curious on how we fell in love, considering to them our first meeting was rather 'spark-less'," She grinned to herself.
"If only they saw the sparks caused by those boots of yours," Harshad walked out of the closet. "I think I love when you wear heels now."
She smirked up at him. "Told you they were worth it."
Harshad smiled before bending down to her level. "You're worth it,"
Meera rolled her eyes before touching his cheek affectionately. "You're too filmi."
"And you're not?" He backed away and smirked.
"I am...but that's okay!" She got up and slipped on her heels.
"More heels?" He winked.
"Stay away!" She frowned. "Don't come near me," she glared. "Calling me filmi..."
Without another word she disappeared out of the room leaving his staring at his reflection wondering how he went from cuddling with his wife to being ditched.
~*~*~*~*~*~
"You came down a bit quickly na?" Kiran teased as Meera descended the stairs alone.
"I came down right on time." Meera glared at her. "He's just ugh!"
"Don't forget the person you're 'ughing' is my dear big brother." Kiran smirked.
"Right," Meera sighed. "I'm surrounded by the crazy people from your family at all times,"
"Ooooh!" Rubina grinned before Kiran glared at her. "Ohh and speak of the devil and the devil appears," she muttered as she glanced up and saw Harshad coming down the steps in a teal sherwani matching Meera's embroidered anarkali suit. His eyes were locked on her but she didn't realize.
"Someone's trying to grab your attention," Kiran nudged Meera who toyed with the end of her dupatta.
"Who?" Meera frowned before turning around and locking eyes with her husband.
Even though she found herself wanting to keep staring at him she quickly looked away and started attending to guests before he thought she had forgiven him.
"So Meera—how's it like? A year after marriage?" Shifali smiled.
"Tum kyun pooch rahi ho?" Meera smirked. "Your weddings in a week hain na?"
Shifali grinned and shook her head before glancing up at her fiance, Shahid.
"Yeh sawal mujhse poochna chaiye Shifali," Harshad stepped closer while Meera rolled her eyes. "My life changed."
"Uh huh?" Shahid smiled. "How so?"
"Batadu?" He leaned closer to Meera who shrugged before walking away to the buffet. She was arranging the various flowers while still keeping her eyes locked on Harshad.
Mujhe Tum Chupke Chupke Jab Aise Dekhti Ho
Achchi Lagti Ho
Meera's eyes flashed up to Harshad who was nowhere to be seen. She frowned unwillingly and her cheeks turned red as she saw her group of friends staring at her with identical smiles on their faces.
She rolled her eyes and fiddled with her dupatta before walking towards them with her eyes on the ground.
Kabhi Zulfon Se Kabhi Aanchal Se Jab Khelti Ho
Achchi Lagti Ho
Two arms came and held her at the waist and she glanced up startled only to see Harshad smiling widely at her.
"Am I forgiven?" He whispered.
"By putting me on the spotlight?" she gritted her teeth, "I'd think not."
"It's your line though," He winked before letting go.
Meera shook her head and sighed finally.
Mujhe Dekhke Jab Tum Yuh Thandi Aahe Bharte Ho
Achche Lagte Ho
Harshad turned around and raised an eyebrow as she smiled at him. She walked straight over to him and gently placed her hand against his heart.
Mujhko Jab Lagta Hai Tum Mujhpar Hi Marte Ho
Achche Lagte Ho
"Feel better now?" She smirked seeing his reaction.
"As long as you stay with me forever," he whispered.
"Okay bahot ho chukka," Rubina frowned and grabbed Meera's hand away from Harshad.
"Where are you taking her?" Harshad frowned as everyone in the large room laughed.
"Before she EVER became your wife, she was and still is my sister." Rubina frowned and took her away.
Harshad turned and glanced at Farid who stood against the wall with a glass in hand and motioned for him to come closer.
"What now?" Farid glared.
"Distract her?" Harshad suggested.
"You make it sound like it's an easy task."
"It is for you," Harshad shrugged.
Farid handed the glass to Harshad and checked his reflection in the nearby mirror. "You owe me,"
Harshad saluted Farid before sighing. "This had better work."
Farid slowly made his way up to the girls who stood with their back to him and grabbed Rubina's free hand.
Tum Mein Ae Meherbaan
Sari Hai Khoobiyan
A small smirk came onto Rinki's face and she nodded, prodding him to go on.
Bholapan Saadgi
Dilkashi Taazgi
With the light graze of his hand Rinki shut her eyes and felt herself be spun around by him. Finally he stopped her and pulled her closer leaving only a bit of space between their bodies.
"What are you doing?" she frowned breathlessly.
"I'm dancing with you," He grinned. "What do it look like? By the way, your line."
She scoffed and backed away. "You're kidding. I'm not singing."
"Yes you are," He smirked as he walked away.
Rinki frowned as she glanced at all her friends who gestured for her to stop him. Finally she reached out and grabbed his shoulder.
Dilkashi Tumse Hai
Taazgi Tumse Hai
He turned around with a smirk on his lips causing her to roll her eyes before completing her stanza.
Tum Hua Humnashi
Ho Gayi Main Haseen
Rang Tumse Mile Hai Sare
"Nicely done Girly," He winked as he pulled her closer.
She smiled. "I learn from the best," she nodded her head over at her friends and watched as Akki took Kiran's arm and led her out to the dance floor.
Taarif Jo Sunke Tum Aise Sharma Jati Ho
Achchi Lagti Ho
Rinki grinned as she saw Kiran's cheeks darkening in color. She leaned her head onto Farid's shoulder who looked down at her and smiled.
Akki spun Kiran into him and waited as she closed her eyes against his chest.
He slowly pushed back a strand of her hair and smiled.
Kabhi Haas Deti Ho Aur Kabhi Itraa Jati Ho
Achchi Lagti Ho
Kiran smiled and shook her head before burying her face into his shirt. Akki grinned and motioned for one of the other girls to sing.
Shahid took one look at Shifali who was moving along to the beat and smiled as he took her hand despite her protests.
Mujhe Dekhke Jab Tum Yuh Thandi Aahe Bharte Ho
Achche Lagte Ho
"Nice job," He pulled her in and placed his hands on her waist before winking. "I didn't know you sing so well."
"There's a lot you have yet to learn," Shifali grinned before shaking her head.
Aradhna glanced up at Mayank who was leaning against the wall watching all the couples dance around.
"Tumhe kabhi mann nahin hota?" She urged.
He shrugged silently.
Aradhna rolled her eyes and took his hand.
Khoye Se Tum Ho Kyon
Soch Mein Gum Ho Kyon
Baat Jo Dil Mein Ho
Keh Bhi Do Keh Bhi Do
He frowned at first then he went into the rhythm of the music and smiled.
Sochta Hoon Ke Main
Kya Pookaro Tumhe
To say she was surprised was an understatement. Strong and silent Mayank Sharma was singing for her? Unbelievable.
Dilnashin Naazneen
Mahero Mehzabeen
Yeh Sab Hai Naam Tumhare
He raised his eyebrows as they danced waiting for her to reply and so she smirked back.
Mere Itne Sare Naam Hai Jab Tum Yeh Kehte Ho
Achche Lagte Ho
"Do you want to...?" Adi bumped his shoulder with Bhavna's.
"With you?" she scoffed. "No thanks."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He frowned. "Got someone better hidden somewhere?"
"I wish," she sighed.
"Are you two fighting again?" Nonee rolled her eyes before she felt someone hug from behind.
Chuck appeared as he tightened his hold around her waist. "Leave them alone Nonee," He smiled against her cheek slowly.
Adi shut his eyes in disgust watching his sister romance with her boyfriend and so he quickly took Bhavna's hand and led her to the dance floor. "Desperate times call for desperate measures."
"Completely understandable Mr. Mehra," Bhavna grinned back.
Mujhe Tum Chupke Chupke Jab Aise Dekhti Ho
Achchi Lagti Ho
"I didn't know you sing," Bhavna let her arms trail up to his neck.
Adi shrugged in response and she shook her head.
"You could at least say something once," she mumbled to herself.
"Like what?" He winked.
"You heard me?"
"It's hard not to when you say it out all,"'
"Right." Her cheeks flushed and he smiled to himself.
Kabhi Zulfon Se Kabhi Aanchal Se Jab Khelti Ho
"Do you see what you started?" Meera smiled as Harshad twirled her.
"Proud of it,"
Achchi Lagti Ho
"Yes, you would be," Meera smiled.
Achche Lagte Ho
"You haven't tripped yet," He smirked.
Achchi Lagti Ho
"Don't plan on it," She shook her head.
Achche Lagte Ho
Suddenly he twirled her too quickly and she slipped about to land on the floor when his arms encircled her waist and rested in a familiar position.
"You were saying?" He winked.
Achchi Lagti Ho
"Kuch bhi nahin." She frowned. "Let me go."
Achche Lagte Ho
Without another word Harshad lifted her up and brought her closer to himself. "Should I let you go?"
Meera silently shook her head and bent it as Harshad's arm wrapped around her lower back and his head rested on top of hers.
Yup that's it 😛 I know it's crazyy long! 😳
Love,
Meera😳
