| 5 reasons to watch Jail !! |
| As the Madhur Bhandarkar presentation readies to release this Friday, we give you 5 good reasons to not miss the movie. Madhur Bhandarkar The first and strongest reason to watch Madhur Bhandarkar's film is Madhur himself. The ace flilmmaker is known for films like Page 3, Traffic Signal and Fashion. Madhur has always tried to portray the lesser known side of life, a life that's glamourous and beautiful at the outside but appalling and gory inside. There are no doubts then that Madhur's Jail will be an awe inspiring film. Jail - Subject While the reason of why a person has been given a jail term becomes public, not many come to know about what happens to a person inside the jail or when he is freed after completing the term. This aspect forms the crux of the movie. Witnessing on celluloid the difficulties and challenges a jail inmate goes through while spending his jail term is the specialty of the subject – Jail. Lata Mangeshkar's prison anthem Lata Mangeshkar sang "Ae malik tere bande hum", a song that inspired prisoners in V. Shantaram's film "Do Aankhen Barah Haath" in 1957. Now Madhur Bhandarkar has the singing legend render a new-age 'prison anthem' in "Jail". The anthem entitled "Daata sun maula sun" is written by a first-time lyricist Ajay Garg. The song has been composed by Shamir Tandon, who had done 'Kitne ajeeb' from Page 3 for her. Character actors The movie doesn't boast of any big stars but the star cast assures to pull up a great act. Apart from Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse, who are just a few films old but have proved their mettle as actors, Jail has Manoj Bajpai and Arya Babbar in pivotal roles. Censor curiousness Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail has a hard time passing the various tests at the Censor Board. The film has got a U/A certificate after seven cuts, including the much talked about Neil's nude scene, a love-making scene between Neil and Mugdha Godse, a homosexual scene and a sex joke have all been slashed. Abusive dialogues have also been deleted. But Madhur has used the scenes in the movie after mellowing them down. All in all, the movie promises it all – a great subject, good actors, entertainment. Go watch it! |
