Sleepless in Mumbai
With the tone of the interview set, we asked him how long he sleeps? However long the day is, Bachchan gets on to his blog after dinner and goes on till he finishes it. Pat comes a candid confession, "Sometimes three to four hours after I finish writing my blog. I think that is enough for a 67-year-old like me. People my age get enough sleep in three hours," he says.
Yes, there's a team helping him out with his blog but that is only limited to videos, says Amitabh. As he retires to his own room after dinner, he says he is the one-man army behind everything that he does on his blog -- writing the copy, correcting it and then scanning the press clippings or pictures that he wants to attach to his blog and then upload, one by one.
Of blog and slog
"I don't have anybody working for me on the blog. After writing the copy, I go back and edit it. I guess it's not difficult because I am not a good writer. The pictures are also scanned by me. Except for the videos, everything is entirely done by me. There are times when I finish my blog in half an hour and there are times when it goes on for hours together. But I can't not finish my blog before I go to sleep because I know there are so many people waiting to see it getting uploaded. The responses are immediate," he continues.
Though he has got a Facebook connect with his blog, Bachchan says that he has never figured that out completely. 'There is a link on my blog but I don't know anything about Facebook. In fact, I am not into these social networking sites at all. I still need to learn. I am happy blogging. Regarding Twitter, I am not there either but I have been doing something similar on my blog through my mobile," Bacchan says pointing to one of the two mobiles, kept on his left side.
Autobiography?
So, we ask him about the rumour of him penning an autobiography and it becomes clear that Bachchan is not going to join the bandwagon. "No! I don't think there's anything to write about myself. I am happy talking to myself on my blog and there's nothing more that I can do. I never intend to write a biography," he says.
Because it was meant to be a film interview and he is playing a djinn in his next film Aladin, I ask him about his three wishes and he says, "You are the 54th journalist to ask me the question and all I can say now is that I can only wish that the film does well."
