Gur,
I dont know how my response will be taken and maybe I will be banned. But I can speak for myself and feel this is a great forum that needs to be supported, therefore I am venturing to respond. You are free to delete this if you dont like it.
I have been around IF for a couple of years and frankly I think AJMBHK is one of the best forums. Be it the way in which you guys maintain it or be it the general level of participants.👏👏👏
Plus we have awesome updators in you, Mitesh and neela226. 👏👏Especially, I feel we should applaud Neela. 👏👏 She is so fast and brilliant.
Thanks KL for all the praise😃. I'm glad that you really enjoy coming to the forum.
Also your suggestions for improvement are great, especially the one where you choose winners like siggy winners purely on basis of participation👏👏👏 Well done.
But, I have to say that may times only the popular sentiment topics get responded to and not every one here feels involved.
I get amused when there is a call for participation. Well pardon my asking, but how many topics do you participate in? And by that I mean actually writing, even if its just one line.
Now you can say that as moderators you guys don't have the time to read every thing. Fair enough. But that is not the perception you guys give as you do have time to respond when it is a topic that subscribes to your liking or when it is written by a friend.
Again, speaking for myself, I have written a handful of topics so far and leave alone the first couple when you encouraged, you guys never bother to reply. Or for that matter not many people do. So do I feel welcome over here. Quite frankly no. 😭
Therefore what example are you setting for us?
KL I know that I try my best to participate in all the topics here. And it's just crazy on how much time I spend on this forum, that sometimes I really have to control myself by staying away from the computer, becuase I miss a lot of study time😆.
Maybe I have missed your topic, but it is definitely not my intention, and if sometimes I don't have the time to respond I definitely press the Like button to show appreciation. Because I don't like responding by just writing a line, I want to be able to write more, for which sometimes I don't have the time. And I know that your topics are written with a deep thought, which require more than just a line or I agree for a response.
Secondly, there seems to be this craze over here to demonstrate how morally great we are. 😕 As a result, why are people who like Shekhar and Laali made to feel they are immoral or are doing something wrong? Are we all claiming to be God here? or the moral police? So much so that now a jannat thread is made for such discussions. The minute you create such threads, you create groups, thereby further reducing channels of free interaction.
And frankly, if people have a problem watching Sekhar and Laali then there is the remote control ....simple. Hahahahaha
The Jannat thread doesn't mean that we can't discuss about Shekhar and Laali elsewhere. It's just a norm in every forum to make appreciation threads for the popular jodi. It's an extra feature. And I think everyone comes from different background and have different opinions, and they can present their views on the forum freely, as long as they are not attacking a member directly.
Thirdly, given a serial that uses words such as "rakhel", "aurat", "cheez" and the like in almost every episode, what language control are we talking about?
Yes, we have to abide by IF Codes and not use vulgar language or bad-words or obscene language. So far based on what I have read, no one in this AJMBHK forum has obscene or bad-words.
I think the makers of IF should understand that we are not in the post independance era where the entertainment used to be Chitrahaar, Gulshan Gulshan Phool Khile and Yeh Jo hai Zindagi.
Increasingly with serials such as Baytab Dil ki Tammana, Sach ka Saamna, a variety of risque reality shows and the like, can you avoid talking about physical immorality. I dont think so. Why have a so called 'open forum' then??
That's a more broad issue. And I too agree we should have the concept of an "open forum", where all kinds of views are welcomed.
Fourthly, and perhaps most importantly, everyone here has got to understand that AJMBHK is not a serial for teenagers or kids. The whole premise of this serial is women subjugation and forced adultery or polygamy.
How then can one expect the serial to have frills and mushy frivolous scenes that make for fun and frolic talks or games. Can you imagine happy go lucky games being built around CSI Miami or Heroes or for that matter Tamas, another Indian serial which was equally serious, the theme being partition issues. Yes we can have some funny internal games but indeed they may not be relevant to the serial.
Therefore hopefully and largely the respondents to this serial or viewers will be people who are mature in age (for want of a better term) and who come with the understanding that this will be a sensitive topic to discuss every-time you touch it.
Now when you have these set of people say those in their 20-30s interact with those in their teens there is bound to be friction, simply because the general mindset of these age-groups itself is different, isnt it.
Each of these groups is right in their own way, but their view of life will be different. Again taking my example, I was more optimistic as a child and teenager which I am not now, having faced some knocks as one grows older.
So when there are these clashes or so called difference of views the idea of good moderation and also good member participants is not to complian and report posts. It is not to police or tell people what to not do, but to tell everyone that let the others be. And this applies to all of us.
This is precisely the problem with not just this forum but the India forums website at large. Everyone claims that they are here to discuss, but the real line is most people here discuss only their stars or jodis or their pet likings and any diverse view be dammed or will be violently opposed
This very in-built bias that people demonstrate stops the others who are just on the fringes and are looking only to have an exchange of views.
So my friend, no matter how many calls to participate or how many games we start, till all of us begin treating the others here as genuine people who have a right to state thier point and not get personal about things or personal about fiction, we can continue status quo........
Yes Agle Janam has a mature theme, but I thnik it depends on the viewer if they want to watch it or not, it's all about likeablity. And you have tu inderstand that the younger generation, watches the shows for mere entertainment puposes, not for it's seriousness. It's the drama that works. And I think Agle Janam has deviated from it's original story as well, to include tracks which are high in drama. Like in real life would there be a combination of characters like Laali, Loha, Shekhar and Sideshwari in one house? Would a girl have that much affection for her buyer that she is ready to get her fingers cut for him? Or care about bringing her buyer and his wife closer together? Be as happy as Laali is in the thakur household, despite knowing she has no future?
I think this forum is mostly free of fights based on opinions when compared to many other forums.
And I agree everyone has the right to state their opinion, but that also includes people who might oppose your opinion. There is no right or wrong in opinions. But yes, if they are opposing it, then they should do it in a manner that is respectful and does not hurt anyone.
