Vidya's Pregnancy

I love how they say the show has a story and it goes according to that. But from what I rememeber, Vidya was pregnant. But i see her climbing stairs, running around, carrying antara, staying up late, not even remotely taking care of herself. And from recent articles it seems that there is going to be a big leap in the story, will there be an extra character as Vidya's 2nd child? Anyone else realize this?

hey...even I was thinking the same thing...they are not focusing on vidya or the baby...and she has been careless when it comes to her health...I wonder if they will emphasize this later...cuz in real life, if someone were to be so careless with their health while pregnant, they could risk a miscarriage...

yep...vidya has been very careless abt herself. and strangely aditya doesnt bother much either except meekly telling her a few times to take rest. but as soon as she says she is fine he goes abt his own work. also vidya is now ending up ignoring abhi too. it started from the time antara couldnt sleep as she didnt see the moon at night. but is it fair on abhi? afterall he's still 5.

Running up stairs and carrying your older child sometimes does not hurt the baby inside. Pregnant women don't need to be taking rest all the time. women work in the office, at home and can do most household chores right upto the point the labor pains start. Doc. want you to be active. The only thing that concerns me is the mental stress Vidya is undergoing...thats not really good for her unborn kid and also the lack of proper sleep. Women can do almost everything during pregnancy (though no horseriding or kickboxing !!!)just needs to take it easy every now and then.

I think lugging around 5 year old Antara would be the hardest. When I was pregnant with my son, my poor daughter had to learn to do with less carrying, and we also trained her to sleep alone because I couldn't bear the thought of dealing with a newborn plus a whiny older child. Sometimes Abhi's character is really whiny.... that would drive me crazy. Though he has adjusted well to what life has thrown him, poor fellow.

I think the pregnancy plot angle is a good idea as a genetic mystery and as a focus on their marriage--will the baby be autistic? did the autism come from Anuradha? what if Vidya loses the baby due to caring for Antara? what will that do to their marriage? etc. Those are all promising ideas. But because of the financial problems plot, they have had to shelve the pregnancy factor.

More realistic would be to show Vidya sitting on the bench all night with Antara, then waking up to throw up.😉

I wish they would show Aditya doing more for Vidya, though. Just yelling at her to drink milk is not enough. She is working two jobs, and they seem not to have a maid or a cook. I guess there is no money for that, so he could cook several times a week, or be shown cleaning the house. Or even get the kids out of her hair when she gets home, so she can potter around and take rest.

What Vidya's doing while pregnant is absolutely outrageous and unrealistic, not to mention dangerous. Have the writers never seen pregnant women or have children of their own?

Women can do many, many physical tasks while pregnant, but climbing stairs with a robust 5 year old, sleepless nights, etc. Not one day where she is TIRED, just dizzy. I'm shocked she hasn't had some complications already, with all we've seen.

And, where in her body, is she hiding the baby? It's been many months (5+ and this is her 2nd child), and she should be showing, or at least growing.

I'm sure for some people, it sets an unrealistic expectation.

i guess one reason vidya's tummy(or the tummy of other pregnant characters) doesnt show is that its tough for an actress to wear those empathy bellys. so they get them right before the delivery. but yes for viewers it breaks the consistency. as for vidya ive noticed prableen coveres up her belly from all angles...even pins up the sari where a lil bit of belly cud show. so u can say the character vidya's belly is sorta hidden the folds of her sari.
