Talking about how he bagged the show, he says, "I was always interested in acting and at home also I used to act so when I came to know about this audition I went for it and got selected."

He adds, "My original profession is choreography. In fact I have done choreography in college. Currently, I am studying Law from Jatinder Chauhan College of Law. I am in the fourth year. I am originally from Baroda but I have been brought up in Mumbai."

As Arselaan, Neil will be sporting a very different look. He reveals, "On left arm I am wearing an armour; it can be used to avoid any kind of attack on me. I am also wearing this red cloth over it. It is a very different but modern look. The script is 3000 years old but the look has to be modern as people should connect to it."

On the character, he says, "Arlselaan is a very shy guy who has been sent to a magical school. He is a normal guy who he keeps on making these weapons, clothes. But people pull his leg as he is an orphan. He is a Persian guy so there is this Chinese kind of hairstyle where every cut is very sharp. The creative team has worked a lot on this and my younger sister got very emotional after watching it."

Lastly about his preparations, he says, "I have to work really hard for this role. For a month I have done martial arts training, then for two months I did script reading. We had to be together to create chemistry with all five of my co-actors. We used to stay together from 7 am to 8 pm. We have become well versed with the environment now."

Neil's mother is an artist and father a lawyer. He wishes to complete his law and then pursue his career in movies.

Arselaan goes on air from July 13, 7 pm. Mukul Dev is playing the main negative and Kishwar Merchant his wife.
