These days Families have their reunions in Courts. A problem of too much wealth?
Why can't they put their pride aside and just talk.
Or perhaps one of them is too greedy or unreasonable.
Elder brother trying to cheat the younger?

Brothers face off

NEW DELHI - A LONG-AWAITED legal face-off between the billionaire Ambani brothers in India's highest court begins on Tuesday in a corporate battle that has transfixed the nation.

The two sides have drafted top lawyers to argue the gas supply case, which pits India's biggest private sector company Reliance Industries Ltd, led by Mukesh Ambani, against Reliance Natural Resources Ltd, headed by Anil.

A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan will hear the case in which billions of dollars are at stake for the two companies.

In the lead-up to the hearing, younger brother Anil, 50, has fired almost daily volleys at his elder sibling Mukesh, 52, over the gas pricing row which stems from a 2005 family pact splitting their corporate empire.

Anil is demanding the honouring of a 2005 settlement brokered by their mother that would allow his company to buy gas from Mukesh at 44 per cent below the government-set rate.

Mukesh, India's wealthest man, is insisting the government price must prevail, after a lower court upheld Anil's arguments and Mukesh appealed to the Supreme Court, and rebuffed a bid earlier this month by Anil to patch things up. -- AFP

apparently when the Dad was around they worked well together as the Dad was a ruthless businessman.
Govt should buy both of them up.😆
Seems like they are an essential industry.
Chal Phek will double his investments overnight.

Talking about Govt intervention, a slight detour, In Bombay High, India used to carry one of the biggest natural gas reserves, but due to a lack of infrastructure ONGC used to flare it away. An intelligent engineer came up with a idea to bring the gas line onshore and convert it usable fuel. The proposal sat in the Petroleum ministry's filing system for years. Finally it reached an official and he returned the file saying. It was a great idea, unfortunately the natural gas resources in Bombay High have been depleted and the cost of the pipeline is too high. But to recognize your idea we will give you an award😆

Very sad.
This what we call a 'wart on the face of progress'.
Wonder if it is inefficiency, stupidity or politically motivated to benefit those whose income will be afftected by such decisions.
